Pixie is out of quarantine, the flock is united and I officially have a bird room. This is good because I can control their light to prevent cranky breeding behavior and egg laying (at least for the first year). This is bad because I'm used to a cage being in whatever room I'm in, but now I can only visit my birds for 8 hours. I want in there!!! Grr.

@MarcoJustMarco I'm reliving a whole teenage feeling right about now. Except my bedroom wasn't this cool, I only had an allowance to spend.

@tippitiwichet lol
I was lucky, my godparents lived right across the street, and he owned a pet shop. 😁
My mom had to tell them to cut it out with the pets lol

@MarcoJustMarco 😳 I'm so jealous it hurts. My grandma called my bedroom "the menagerie". I bred honey gouramis and rats to trade to pet stores for credit so I could afford their upkeep with only an allowance. I often couldn't do things like buy a larger cage for an iguana, so I'd buy a baby and grow it, then trade it back for another baby. I kept the birds though, they formed bonds. Got a petstore job for a bit in my late teens because the list of animals I had owned was so long.

@MarcoJustMarco Come to think of it, my room was pretty cool. Just not "give this species anything it needs, spoil it, specialize only in it" kind of cool. But at one point I had almost 50 rats under my desk (most babies), so that's cool.

@tippitiwichet It was the tradition that he'd hire the teens in our street for the summer. One of my bros worked there every summer.
I went to work at my aunt's hair salon as receptionist. lol
I mean. lol

@MarcoJustMarco At our high school, one of the science teachers owned a pet store. I never took his class, but sold him rats. His pet shop closed, but he gave away his best pets to a lot of my friends. One dude got a free African Grey :). I think he had one of my rat babies as a pet. A lot of my friends did, they got the best of each litter.
