@peeppeepcircus This is what EVs should have been all along.
They need to represent a revolutionary re-evaluation of our priorities, not a modified continuation of status quo that perpetuates all our problems.
@Museek It isn't that sudden. Christian nationalism was a big concern before TFG's 1st shot.
He did kick it into overdrive.
Christian nationalism as a populist movement has jumped the tracks and is completely out of control.
Many Christian leaders, authors, Bible schools, seminaries and pundits of all kinds are mostly alarmed...but are viewed as irrelevant to it.
There is no legitimate faith core to this movement. The whole thing depends on a manufactured, reductionist, rubber-stamp "Jesus."
@janallmac @TetsuKaba The common thread is how much chaos they can proliferate.
The most successful strategy to undermine democracy is propping up popular fools, thereby making their foolishness "controversial."
@peeppeepcircus @AnnetteTRemain I had low expectations, but I'll admit he surprised me.
@peeppeepcircus @AnnetteTRemain He turned X-Twitter into hell's sewer.
@peeppeepcircus @HopeSeeker I would only want one so that I could be helpful.
And I'd only want to put a giant supercharger on it so that I could be helpful way faster!
@Cosmichomicide The one time I've ever used a chainsaw, it was to cut a large shed in a warehouse lot into pieces small enough to fit in a dumpster.
Here was my training:
"You know how to use a chainsaw?"
"No."
"Wanna learn?"
"Yes!"
"Here's how you start it. Here's the throttle. There you go!"
I'll tell you, that was a riot! I still can't believe I got paid for that! 😀
@HopeSeeker @peeppeepcircus Thanks for the vote of confidence!
I've only used a chainsaw a single, solitary time in my whole life, and I didn't hurt myself or anyone else.
So despite my other regrets, I am glad I haven't done anything to mess up that track record.
@Warpspeed3 This sounds like sound advice to me!
But I should probably ask: is that a hard limit? Like, if I suddenly end up with 25 or 26, then what?
@peeppeepcircus This is an existential question that is simply over my head.
@Cosmichomicide Okay, but if I had a chainsaw, and someone wanted to cut something enormous (and possibly sketchy) with it, I could go do that for them!
I mean, like, then I'd have a chainsaw, and I'd be using it -- win-win!
@Warpspeed3 Right?! Wow, I've been wasting so much time!
Now I just have to figure out how many chainsaws I need to make up for it!
@LnzyHou Based on the evidence I saw in a chainsaw ad one time, I think everyone owns a chainsaw...or, y'know, should!
@HopeSeeker Well...beer and a chainsaw sounds like bad combo.
I'm surprised that graphic design is still so underrated in so many circles.
How a piece looks has a massive effect on how it is perceived and interpreted.
Design provides the context for the content. They're meant to work together.
I just got back from my first paying family photoshoot in a long time.
I either need to do this way more, or never again.
@redenigma There must be some psychological significance to how often truly unbelievable things are presented with the intensifier "Unbelievable!" Or "Incredible!"
Does this kind of sarcasm (which in this case is accidentally sincere) serve as a subtle pre-emptive strike against people's scepticism?
I don't get involved with "the greatest ever!" kinds of conversations.
No matter the discipline, I have a sneaky suspicion that the actual greatest ever is someone none of us has ever heard of, doing their thing in their corner, entirely avoiding the spotlight.
People getting a riled up in arguments over their particular choices for "the greatest ever!" need better outlets for their precious energy.
Stay curious and courageous. Change often arrives sideways.
