I always read doonesbury on sundays. This one was in the Seattle Times, which I normally read. I think it’s fabulous. Guess it wouldn’t be doonesbury if it didn’t ruffle some feathers. Truth is often uncomfortable.

@tgraph52 I’ve been there too. Two things helped me 1- working with a co-writer, and 2 - doing some exercises where I took a more “academic” approach (realizing it might not be a great song, but it helped to build songwriting muscles.)
Then, of course, the songwriter circle approach has helped as well.

Well, I came up with the first line almost immediately when I got the prompt, then stalled out. When I went back to it just a few days ago, it started flowing and I did lyrics and music with in about an hour . Then refined a bit over the next couple days. The group liked the song, gave me a couple suggestions which w8ll be easy to address, so I’m feeling pretty good about this one.
