@Maude 🤣
Friends, we must rise up in protest for this misguided entertainment industry trend.
We DO NOT need more dystopian, apocalyptic movies telling us humanity is on its way out.
We DO need more thoughtful, intelligent movies about humanity's promise. We need to see people working together and solving problems.
Remember Guinan 's quote from Star Trek:
"When a man is convinced he's going to die tomorrow, he'll probably find a way to make it happen."

NFL coaches today are so impatient. It takes some time to learn from mistakes to become a really good QB.
Today, coaches just want to draft/trade for, their "franchise" QB and start winning right away.
HOF Terry Bradshaw was the overall #1 selection in the 1970 draft. He only started 4 games his first year and threw 26 interceptions.
HOF Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round in 2000. He started 0 games his first year and passed for 6 yds in his only first year appearance.
@Armchaircouch
Ok. I respect your patriotism.
But I am troubled by Trump and the MAGA movement attempting to redefine what it means to be American.
And the NFL wrapping itself in the flag, implying real Americans love football is disturbing.
American == Football loving
is a false equivalency.
Many Americans show their patriotism in various ways having nothing to do with sports whatsoever.
When I watch a ballgame I don't want to be made to feel I don't belong somehow.
It seems inappropriate to me that an NFL game begins with singing the National Anthem and waving the flag.
It's a ballgame in a league of pro football players. It doesn't really have any relationship to the country or patriotism. To imply or suggest that it does is dishonest and off putting, implying you aren't a real American if you don't like football. It's reminiscent of the MAGA slogan.
Let's get rid of flags and prayers at our ballgames, shall we?
Concerned about fair elections next year in the midst of gerrymandering, fake/alternate electors, etc.?
Wish we could ditch the Electoral College and just have a national election by popular vote?
Check out the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). It's easier to implement than a Constitutional Amendment. And it's already in progress.
Call your State Representatives.

@Pat_Walrond
Well, I prefer to believe there are more critical thinking, pragmatic, intelligent people than stupid people in America.
@Pat_Walrond
Probably. But just having an announced plan is a good way to campaign for more Dem Senators in Nov. 2024, don't you think?
And STILL President Biden and the Democratic Party have no announced plan to fix the Supreme Court.
Think that might be a really effective campaign issue ?

Who nominated these geniuses?
Oh yeah -- 6 of the 9 current, sitting Supremes were nominated by Republican Presidents.

t's unbelievable.
The lack of awareness and good judgement of the highest ranked federal judges in America.
What? -- it's as if they locked themselves inside a big building across from the Capital some years ago and
never watch or listen to the news, or have any contact with the outside world.
I mean, why would there be an urgent need to show whether Trump is above the law or not?

I'm shocked by the approaching speed of potentially catastrophic political and legal events.
The Jan 5 deadline for approving the Colorado primary GOP ballot is really soon.
Can we possibly get a US Supreme Court decision before then?
Can Trump delay and obfuscate to push the DC federal trial until after the Nov election?

@BrentSullivan
Yeah, it's almost hard to believe, isn't it? 😀
Yeah, well I am a consumer of products, care about the values of the companies I support, vote in every election, never been on Tik-Tok and don't want to be.
So maybe dial back the viral/tech crap and dial up the attention you give to the environment, the health of society, and quality service/products for your consumers.
There's lots of people like me who will notice.

@CoyoteConscious I agree that we do need to act for change and the betterment of the world.
But when the entertainment industry is constantly shoving this view in our faces it's easier to believe it's inevitable and just shrug and sigh each time the MAGA politicians tear away a piece of our democracy.
I think this kind of dystopian crap is completely irresponsible. Is there no one in the film industry who realizes we badly need inspiration and hope, not pessimism and despair?
Everyone needs to go an see the Disney film, "Tomorrowland", and avoid Alex Garland and A24 Entertainment.

I think these greedy pro sports team owners should be forced to change the team names when they move their arenas out of the city.
