My friends, it's hard to be thankful in times like this.
Seeing the (not so) slow motion destruction of our democracy.
Enduring the torrent of Christmas literally drowning the #Thanksgiving holiday.
But keep the faith. You're not alone here.
@HopeSeeker
It's a real problem. Certainly strategies for dealing with the new reality will differ.
I belong to a small support group who are trying to deal with everything. Some get irritated by those that insist on discussing current events. Others get irritated by those that insist on burying their heads in the sand.
We all just need time to work it out.
@KGinKS
I understand and agree with what you say. But I don't believe that's the cause of the election loss. The problem is bigger.
Why are there millions of people who don't think being a fascist, racist, misogynist, narcissist, criminal and pathological liar is disqualifying?
It's a much bigger group than the working class.
It seems a trend in the election postmortem theories is to blame the Democratic campaign strategy which failed to reach/inspire low wage workers about the plan to manage the economy.
I don't agree. The problem is much bigger than that.

Yes I think we all have this need and many are still struggling.
Anway, good to have you back.
Go ahead and call me a semantic nazi. I don't care.
I've been watching American football games for over 60 years. It was always the rule that the coin toss winner chose to "kick" or "receive". "Defer" was never an option. It's nonsense.
You will never see any team running their "defer" play to start a game, or practicing their deferrals. What you will see is one team kicking and one receiving.
Why has this suddenly gone beyond the understanding of NFL officials and announcers?

Ditto! And nowadays, they are my goto source.
I've been reading the Guardian for a long time. They've stuck by their values of honesty in reporting, and being a progressive voice.
They are funded and run by a non profit based foundation, not shareholders and advertisers.
Been that way for 200 something years.
Is intelligent alien life darting around in space — and even in the skies above us here on Earth? Has the U.S. government been covering up unexplained phenomena, and using secret extraterrestrial discoveries to boost its own technology?
YES! -- according to powerful, expert testimony before Congress today.

Our prosecutors completely failed us.
They had 4 years to enforce the laws against Trump, and they delayed, and they hesitated, and they were too cautious, and they finally went after him -- but it was too little, too late.
History will judge them, if there is any history left.
I have seen in the Halls of Congress more idealism, more humanness, more compassion, more profiles of courage than in any other institution that I have ever known.

This is how it was in America not so very long ago.
"To all of the young people out there who are creating social change or even fomenting social movements: hold on to your idealism and your belief in your ability to change the world. Your lofty goals demand attention and deserve support."

I agree 💯%

I am thinking it would be good for like-minded states to form a coalition to share effective strategies against #DayOneDictator
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore's Nov. 8th cabinet meeting remarks:
"These are the four key values guiding our work in this moment, as a new president takes office…
Deliver for Marylanders;
Defend our constitutional rights;
Grow our economy;
And restore faith in our public servants, our institutions, and our democracy.
We will vigorously defend the interests of ALL Marylanders – and we are ready to push back on this new White House when necessary."

Imagine America's surprise. 😲 😏
👀👀👀👀Trump Holds Up Transition Process Over Ethics Code
Donald Trump has not yet submitted a legally required ethics pledge stating that he will avoid conflicts of interest and other ethical concerns while in office, raising concerns that his refusal to do so will hamper the smooth transition to power,” the New York Times reports.
“Mr. Trump’s transition team was required to submit the ethics plan by Oct.1, according to the Presidential Transition Act.”
