One thing this election truly proves is that the USA has a huge racism and misogyny problem. Not all Americans, sure, but enough to make it an issue that we need to address. We need to, at the very least, acknowledge the problem.

If you are afraid right now, I have a suggestion.
Make a plan.
Plan on what you are going to do if things don't go the way you want them to. Turn off the TV for a bit and start working on how you are going to move forward.

Why?

Because if you have a plan, you will start to feel like you have it covered no matter how things go. You will feel prepared.

Not only that, you will get out of the manufactured panic for a minute. People are making money off of your fear right now.

The Red Mirage gets em every time. No matter how much you educate people about it, they fall for it every election.

When you have news organizations calling states for one candidate or the other with less than half of the votes actually counted, you have a manufactured media horse race. If that is your thing, then cool and all. Maybe wait until votes are counted before deciding the world has ended.

If you thought Costco was a good idea because people would be too busy with other things today, nope.

@Razdawg22 I not only voted for Harris / Walz. I was pissed. I spitefully voted blue all the way down the ballot. I don't think I am alone in that sentiment.

Fight goes 2 rounds of fluff where both fighters pretend to fight each other, trading a few light blows.
Third round, something happens and Tyson gets pissed and knocks Paul out.
After the fight, Paul tries to sue Tyson for breach of contract because it was supposed to go 8 rounds and end in a tie decision.

It is free and relatively easy to do. You will need to create an account on each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies, but outside of that, it is easy to freeze it once the account exists.

Stop identity theft before it can happen. It is irritating, but necessary. You can unfreeze it at any time.

Remember, the flood of (mis)information telling you that this election is razor close is meant to drive revenue. Tune out of it for a couple of days. Every media company is going to try to keep you engaged as hard as they can as the advertising dollars it generates will drive their company for months. They will tell you it is the end of the world if it means you clicking their article and being served their menu of ads.

It is going to be ok.

@redenigma If that were to happen, it would be important for Americans to not be so complacent this time. General Strikes would be the most effective means of getting things to change, it is just nearly impossible to get Americans to do something to save themselves. Most just accept any injustice done to them and complain about it online instead of doing anything to help themselves.
