I usually need some background noise of some kind when I'm reading. I've never really been a fan of silence. Sometimes it's low music or the TV on just as ambient noise.

Another lunch break session. Clocked another 25 minutes and change. Lamb is such a fun book and everyone should read it.

Two more chapters down and a decent chunk of time toward the goal. 44 minutes today. I'm always baffled by the people who can sit and read for hours. I get distracted too easily and need to do something else.

Anyone else a Thriftbooks shopper and get stupid excited when you earn that free book?

I'm so excited about this. I waited until I had a bunch of points from doing silly Google Opinion Surveys so this ended up being half price. I've tried to read this book like 3 times and just can't. Having Andy Serkis read it to me will be *chef's kiss*.

Anyone else use Pango Books? Here's my shop of what books I'm selling.

I'm doing an A to Z Reading Challenge this year and this is my "B" book. Pretty interesting so far! If you have any interest in true crime, you may like it. It's a memoir of a psychiatrist's time working at Napa State Hospital.

I really try not to freak out in the Facebook book group I'm in when people ask questions like "Has anyone read the Harry Potter series?" Oh, honey. Are you new to the planet?

Finished my first book of my A to Z Challenge for this year. Not bad to get through it in 11 days. I can do this!! Aftermath is LeVar Burton's first novel and it was pretty good! For "B", I'm going in a totally different direction with Behind the Gates of Gomorrah by Stephen Seager MD. Wish me luck! 🀣

I just realized the book I'm reading for N in my alphabet reading challenge is part of a series and I didn't know it. So now I have to choose the next N book I have that fits my criteria. Whoops? I don't wanna do series books for this so I'm not doing them out of order.

I still have like 150 pages to read in my current book. I wanted to finish it before the new year. Time to suck it up!

Have you ever been trying to collect a complete book series so you can start reading it and then discover one of the books you got is literally the 3 books combined in one??? I just did. Whoops?

My boyfriend just gets me. I told him he could have literally gone down my book wishlist and got me nothing else but books and I would have been happy.

A friend/coworker kept recommending I read the Dragonriders of Pern books. Over and over. I just started the first one and I don't know if it's just me, but it's hard to get through. Lots of weird phrasing or word choices. I normally read pretty quickly, but I catch myself having to slow down and concentrate on some things. Maybe it was because it was 1968, or maybe I'm too used to easier language.
