Saw my first salmon swimming upstream at a park I can walk to from my house. Really cool!

I've heard lots of other ppl talking about seeing salmon in this place, but never actually saw any myself until today.

Any A/V nerds on here? If I'm replacing a circa-2009 receiver with a modern one, should I also replace my HDMI cables? The old one supports HDMI v1.3a and the new one... doesn't seem to say. It's supposed to handle 8k video.

Grabbed my Harris/Walz hat for this morning's dog walk. Part of me felt like I was possibly setting myself up for unpleasant interactions. But the other part thought "yeah, but I wouldn't want to be mistaken for a trump supporter".

Not looking to jump ship mind you--just would like to have options.

Spent some time researching my prospects for getting #Irish citizenship/passport. Looks like I am in fact eligible (see https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/citizenship/) by virtue of having a grandparent born on the island of Ireland.

Gonna have to marshal a bunch of original birth/marriage/death certificates tho (at least for the citizenship part). My uncle has some docs, but not everything.
