I'm on this social media and I'm not super active. I'm also on linkedin and use it only for job search. so my social presence is very limited by choice.
but I read a lot. and I used to struggle with cPTSD symptoms. I've read a book on that, was super helpful. I've also read "the center cannot hold" out of curiosity. my point is - social media is only a fraction of people...

None the less, at Satan’s insistence, he approaches it and peers in. It’s absolutely packed with souls, barely visible under the surface of the boiling liquid. Now and then, however, one clambers out of the pitch and desperately reaches for the rim. Oddly, there are no devils sitting on the edge of this giant pot but the clamberer disappears back beneath the surface anyway.

The tour continues. Soon the duo approaches a second cauldron, it’s slightly larger and slightly hotter. The American peers in. It’s also full of suffering souls, all wearing berets. Devils are pitchforking would be escapes back into this cauldron as well. “That’s where we put sinful Frenchmen,” Satan says. In the distance is a third cauldron. It’s much bigger and is glowing white hot. The American can barely get near it.

my husband sent me what appears to be an old jocke:
“An American dies and goes to hell. Satan himself shows him around. They pass a large cauldron, the American peers in. It’s full of suffering souls, burning in hot pitch. As they struggle to leave the pot, low ranking devils sitting on the rim pitchfork them back in. The American is properly shocked. Satan says, “That’s where we put sinful Englishmen.”

Slow Horses
When I find an exception book, movie or a TV show, I miss my dad the most. I always knew he'd love what I found great. Same was here.
I do have some people sharing some of my tastes, but not to the extent he did (it's probably the other way around 😅 but ...)

No, not for everyone. My mother has great relationship with my husband (and with my ex she also did). And I have horrible relationship with my MIL (to be fair, she has horrible relationship with my husband/his son too). With my ex-MIL we had mutually neutral.
So, I'd put my money on a concrete thing that he didn't yet speak about by some reason.

Nah, my brother in law lives nearby. And the ticket to CA is ~100 $ from where I'm located. Just need to figure out who will take care of the dogs while we are out

Hope so. There are a lot of Ukrainian historical treasures in Russian museums, galleries, basements, safes. I really hope that we will be able to return it in exchange for removing some sanctions after we have a complete win over them.

@The_USA_Singers they use russian tactics of misinformation and propaganda, that some call a Christmas tree tactics: for a matter you throw a bunch of contradicting "explanations", each one is beneficial for them but can be diametrically opposed. as Christmas decorations, there is a bunch of different ones. and each person in their audience gets to pick the one they find the most appealing. done
