Good morning CoSo! I am starting this Monday the way I start every single day: with #caffeine and #CatsOfCoSo . Whatever my schedule, I sit in the living room to drink my coffee - and dip myself in the company of cats. Here is #Ruby providing love and purrs while looking like the house panther she is. Two friends who don't know each other, several years apart, gave me gifts (a belt and a dress) that go perfectly together. This serendipity will be my outfit tomorrow when instead of dancing, I will attend my #bellydance circle's program at the local public library to support and cheer them on. Surgery recovery cramps my style, but it can't fully stop me.

My glaucoma specialist was happy with how great everything looked at this morning 's 24-hour post-op visit. The pain and the bloody eyeball and all those things are part of the deal. This is by far the messiest eye surgery I have had. I am currently supervised by the most vigilant of our nursing staff: #Neville .

Caught a bit of the Macron speech and his line "you are forever at home here" / "vous êtes à jamais chez vous ici" in his beautiful French diction made me cry. Every reference to someone being claimed as being at home in a place they was not born in, makes me cry. The US commentator immediately preceding saying we don't teach history in our schools, yeah that didn't move me much. I will teach this exact history next spring FFS.

I am dizzy and hurting, as one does the evening of surgery day. But I also have @Milo cuddles and those are freaking magical.

Surgery is done! There is more pain than I expected, so I am taking Tylenol. I will take off my own bandage this afternoon to start a rigorous eyedrop regimen, then go back tomorrow morning for the doc to look at it. My head is still fuzzy (I had Propofol, Verced, and Fentanyl, in this order) and all I want to do is sleep, but I am grateful that this is in the rear view and that I don't have to do anything but sleep and start healing.

Here to state the absolutely obvious: when a purring kitten looks at you like this, and then cuddles into your face, that is pretty much Heaven. So here we are, us the visually impaired.

I am having eye surgery!

My glaucoma specialist talked to insurance this morning, cleared up whatever needed clarifying, and got approval on the spot. I am having surgery Wednesday morning. It is a stent procedure, although not the minimally invasive one my doc wanted. It is the more invasive stent the insurance company wanted him to do. Then denied. And now approved. So I am preeeettyyyyy sure I am getting this done on 6.5.

enjoy the moment and the moments as they come. Because tomorrow my glaucoma specialist has a peer-to-peer review phone call with the insurance company to figure out what the hell caused the denial of the surgery picked from the insurance's approved list of procedures. Having a great weekend is a must.
