@evamarie it really will. 2016-2020 was bad enough
@InvaderGzim be interesting to see, if there’s a brain drain how Europe manages to reconcile that with their current anti migrant sentiment. I’m suspecting so long as it’s a cruise ship and not a rubber boat you’ll be grand.
Yup…
A Labour MP, who worked in Washington DC during Trump’s first term: “I hate to say it but the reality is this is going to colour the entire premiership of Keir.
“It has completely changed everything – every single thing we do, everything they do will be seen through the prism of this one man’s reaction.
“And that’s going to be exhausting.
@Madken65 that’s always been the way here. We don’t discuss politics out loud. It’s not healthy.
@singlemaltgirl that’s true enough.
@singlemaltgirl UK has spend limits based on how many MPs a party is standing. Contest every single seat in Parliament and you can spend something like £30million
In Ireland each candidate can spend around €60,000. Presidential elections a total of €750,000 (per candidate)
@singlemaltgirl fantastic, they did wonders for my dicky neck.
She loves all of it. She goes to a drama group now and singing lessons once a week. Really trying to encourage it.
@singlemaltgirl oof, hope your OK now, didn’t know you’d hurt your back. Can’t beat a nice dander outdoors.
It’s a youth group doing a musical of Alice in Wonderland next year. She just loves performing but hasn’t been in anything so I’m really hoping she gets a part. Good for the confidence and all. The pandemic really made her draw into herself.
@singlemaltgirl it’s amazing!! Haven’t had much of a chance yet to do anything, be spending the weekend being all geeky installing my apps and all.
Have to get daughter up to an audition for a musical today then take a nice long walk along the river first. Clear the head. Hope you have nice things planned
@singlemaltgirl and honestly, I try not really pay much attention to the goings on outside Europe. More I read about his circle, think about Musk, read what they said.
Fuck fuck fuck.
@singlemaltgirl it’s all I can think about, this shit is spending too much time in my brain. I guess in a way it’s useful because you never know, maybe I’m over reacting and there’ll be relief when is not *that* bad.
I don’t think that’s the case though.
@singlemaltgirl I get diplomacy but it’s craven. The west will treat this new administration with respect, because America.
@singlemaltgirl nope, I’m not cut out to be a politician, don’t suffer fools gladly. No matter “their station”
@LiseL just sometimes it runs around my brain and it’s like wtaf. I mean, I know there’s places on the planet now that are as awful for women and people, but when folk talk about “Christian values” and all as if it could never happen again. This was a “Christian values” country through and through.
Things can flip pretty quickly right? People alive not only lived through things like this but actively supported it.
