RE the "they'd just use a different weapon" argument.

I'd rather try to block the blow of someone attempting to stab me than try to stop a bullet from a 357 Magnum.

I got my missing device back from the store. They held it.

I would rather someone be kind to me based on "foolishness" than hateful in hard, cold fact.

Addendum. The concept is brilliant. Don't know how much collateral damage there may or may not have been. Usually when a cellphone bursts into flames it's only the owner who is injured.
