Overturning Roe v. Wade was actually very unpopular and could be damaging to Republicans in future elections. I think they know this, and are trying to reinvigorate the extremists who would celebrate it. They're trying to make it a holiday to recover some of the damage they did themselves.

I wonder if it will work.
