As we get more into the 2024 US election, I'm enjoying reading of our post Civil War period...
We won the battle, we lost the fight.
It is a quite fascinating read...The period from 1865 to 1915 was always under learned in any HS curriculum.
In retirement, I can keep working on filling the gaps in my education where a Doctorate and 3 Masters Degrees never quite filled it in.
I had gotten out of reading books for a while, but I'm loving my return.
I enjoy being a READER and greatly value that I can still learn and grow and retain my cuteness at 73.
Hehehe

That's awesome! My father is 80, and we both think a lot of his good health (and cuteness 😉) comes from his continued mental activity.
As a kid of only 55, I still have to work for my keep. 😉 😂 I flex my brain cells by keeping ahead of the real kids though, things are always changing in web development!
I was lucky that my mother started me early with extra-curricular learning programs at home. They taught me that learning doesn't end with school.

I bet that's fascinating! Very timely, too. It makes me wish I had more time to read books like that. What we see now was shaped by, and is driven by, what happened then.
