Black people throughout the country, in more than 20 states, have been getting racist text messages that order them to report to a plantation for slave labor, according to reporting by CNN and numerous other outlets. The texts reference โslave catchersโ and โpicking cotton,โ These hate-filled messages have been received by both kids and adults. The texts appear to be targeting Black and Brown individuals, including students.

No candidate can reason about facts and policies with voters who have no real interest in such things. They like the promises of social revenge that flow from Trump, the tough-guy rhetoric, the simplistic โI will fix itโ solutions.
