I have done what no man willingly wants to do. I have requested an appointment to discuss getting a colonoscopy done.
[shudder]
I've been told by my hematologist that I need a colonoscopy to rule out my colon as a source of my chronic anemia. So, at my last appointment, she told me to contact a gastroenterologist and arrange to get one done. I've just used their web interface to request such an appointment.
I am not looking forward to this. Sigh. 😭
@leejackson I'm doing well, thanks Lee. The weather is threatening, but we'll see what happens. Overall, I'm grateful for the life I have today. Wasn't always like that.
One thing that you have is that you know where you stand regarding your health. That is so key to a person's outlook. Hang in, Lee!
@MisterE Oh, status quo, I guess. Had a telemedicine appointment with one doctor, during which my heart palpitations briefly kicked in. No additional edema weight gain, thank goodness.
How about yourself?
@MisterE Greetings, MisterE!
@leejackson I know the feeling. I am waiting for the VA to get me scheduled for cataract surgery. I really wish they would hurry. I tired of everything looking like I am looking through water.
@leejackson I recently had the cataract surgery in both eyes, and lasik on one. Don’t suffer- slow vision loss is a sneaky rat bastard that reduces your quality of life in ways you won’t notice, as it’s so gradual. Also, I read that there is a new treatment for cataracts that’s non-surgical. No idea if that means it happens in a lab or if it’s a commercially available deal. This stranger on the internet simply says, don’t put it off. Good luck and good health.
@leejackson Sorry but glad you had insurance. My grandfather had cataracts so it's something my optometrist is watching for in me. So far so good.

I had to deal with some difficult people today.
Some folks know *precisely* when they are being rude, but I think many many folks have no idea how abrasive they are being, because they are so caught up in whatever is causing them distress.
This helps me navigate challenging encounters.
It does make me extra tired, though.

BTW, CoSo, I had my optometrist appointment yesterday. Turns out I've got cataracts, which are worse in my left eye - they can't correct it down past 20/25. In 5 or 6 years, I'll probably need cataract surgery, the doctor said.
My prescription for both eyes changed drastically. Getting new lenses and, thanks to a couple of faceplant falls, new frames. Cost: $225 after insurance. It was over $1000 before insurance! Geez.
@MisterE Thank you very much. You stay healthy as well.
@leejackson Lee, I hope that your cardiologist visit will get you some form of relief. Best wishes for a good report.
Wish I could say good. I've documented some of my hospital chronicles here. Dealing with a form of heart failure, diagnosed with anemia, also have peripheral artery disease affecting my legs. Heart palpitations have been sucking the energy out of me lately. Got a follow-up cardiologist appointment on Thursday.
In other words, I've been better. 😅
@MisterE Hello, MisterE!
Oh my. Our local meat guy had a special on these 2” thick bone-in ribeyes. Sous Vide at 130F then a couple minutes searing. Amazing, barely needed a knife.

@leejackson Sounds like a good plan. We really need a fixit button to solve all this. We rooting for you out here!
I was until yesterday. I had a hard time with heart palpitations draining all my energy and knocking me out. Happened 3 or 4 times. I'm thinking about moving up my cardiologist appointment from July to sometime this week or next week if it keeps up.
@leejackson Glad to hear you're moving towards better health!!! <3
