@poemblaze I did just that - to my sister and nephews.
@LnzyHou That’s a good image.
@poemblaze I don’t have any perspective on it - but my bucket of f’s is empty. My thinking = brag about paying = pay. Brag but then hint (in the most passive way) that you want reimbursement = 🤯
And you wouldn’t believe the shit storm that caused! Aunts and uncles calling saying I’ve misunderstood his intentions. I don’t think I misunderstood at all. He didn’t need to pay, he claimed he wanted to. The truth is my aunt wanted to, and he probably resented it.
I may send him a couple grand at Xmas - with a note that I know things are tough.
I am normally nice, but come on - if you wanted money, ask. Or don’t volunteer to pay.
Spite is my superpower.
Mind if I bitch for a minute?
As I got off the plane last night, returning from my brother’s memorial, I received a text from the person (uncle) who had told everyone(bragged) he was paying for everything (which was nice, but unnecessary). The text was informing me of the total cost for everything. So I wrote and mailed a check for the full amount, plus estimated hotel costs, mileage to and from, and per diem for 3 days for him and his wife. Sent him a text back with a photo of the check.
@Bliss he passed away unexpectedly last Thursday.
@AskTheDevil you are absolutely correct.
The Beast’s deportation plans includes naturalized citizens in a process they call denaturalization. https://theimmigrationhub.org/press/gop-plans-to-turbocharge-trumps-denaturalization-project-threaten-the-nations-core-values/
PSA - get your documents to prove your citizenship now. If you wait until you need them, it will be too late.

😉
@Tee_Lynn plan for whatever floats your boat. Survival is definitely a good thing to plan for. I expect everybody’s plan will be different. Some people will plan to lay low and whether the storm. Others may believe there’s a political fix.
I plan to take my own advice. I’m gonna take a couple of days and see what happens that way. I’ll know what I need to make a plan for.
Second (and last) PSA
Once they begin rounding up suspected "illegals" it may be too late to get the documents you need to prove your citizenship.
I guarantee you that it will be virtually impossible to do so from an internment camp - or once you are "concentrated" into a ghetto.
PSA - Thanks to #SCOTUS - there are no guardrails in place like there were last time.
Step 1 - Take a couple of days to observe what is happening. Rest your brain. See what the landscape looks like and figure out how you're going to respond to what's coming.
