Last night, 58 year old Mike Tyson engaged in a professional boxing match for 8 rounds. Afterwards he seemed okay (uninjured).

Last night, 54 year old me went to Publix and received a flu shot and a covid booster. Today, I can feel every punch landed by both guys from that fight, plus every joint aches and throbs.

So, no. I wouldn't fight Mike Tyson for any amount of money. I wouldn't fight Kristen Bell either. It's not that I'm too old - it's that I'm a whiny bitch.

I’d see him around after high school and

1. I’d always buy him beers if I’d see him out. and,

2. I made a conscious effort not to run my smart ass mouth when I was in his company.

The moral of the story? I may be (definitely am) a smart ass, but I am not, dear reader, a dumbass.

My first and only time going to a live fight was one of those “Bad Man” competitions. I was a senior in High School and a classmate who I knew just a little bit was outside the arena when I was going in. I asked if he wanted to site with us, but he said he was fighting. He had entered this thing. He was average size, average build, with a friendly disposition. No fight training at all.

He was a natural badass. He fought and won 5 or 6 times and lost in the final on points and came in 2nd.

Somebody asked me last week if I had been sick. And it was the best compliment. Why?

Because I've lost + or - 50 pounds this year. At 209 I physically feel better, and I look better.

But if I'm being honest - I'm happier when I'm overweight. I was lean and mean in my teens and 20's - but I was a moody SOB.

As the weight comes off - I can feel that old feeling creeping back in.

Jesus wept! Remember this dude? If somebody sewed together a sack full of dicks and it somehow became a sapient grifter.

And I’m a bitch’s bitch. But I’m not passive aggressive. My sister says I’m aggressive-aggressive, which is probably accurate.

And you wouldn’t believe the shit storm that caused! Aunts and uncles calling saying I’ve misunderstood his intentions. I don’t think I misunderstood at all. He didn’t need to pay, he claimed he wanted to. The truth is my aunt wanted to, and he probably resented it.

I may send him a couple grand at Xmas - with a note that I know things are tough.

I am normally nice, but come on - if you wanted money, ask. Or don’t volunteer to pay.

As I got off the plane last night, returning from my brother’s memorial, I received a text from the person (uncle) who had told everyone(bragged) he was paying for everything (which was nice, but unnecessary). The text was informing me of the total cost for everything. So I wrote and mailed a check for the full amount, plus estimated hotel costs, mileage to and from, and per diem for 3 days for him and his wife. Sent him a text back with a photo of the check.

One of the things that is darkly funny is how angry MAGA gets when you politely point out that the policies they voted for will have impacts.

They aggressively bitch about any perceived criticism of the things they voted for and support.

And that’s that!

Once they begin rounding up suspected "illegals" it may be too late to get the documents you need to prove your citizenship.

I guarantee you that it will be virtually impossible to do so from an internment camp - or once you are "concentrated" into a ghetto.
