if more actually spent time reading the NT, instead of getting lost in the wars, etc of the OT for their opinions, it might lead to some thinking perhaps.
@holon42 One would think so, but humans are masterful at willfully misreading any text that is uncomfortable. Myself included.
yes, it's all too human, for sure.
and many texts do have innumerable meanings, that's language.
@holon42 “Love your neighbor as yourself” is pretty clear, but we all fail at that one one time or another. Some more consistently than others.
yes, without the requisite metanoia, the "loving kindness" too often becomes inauthentic, pushy, and judgmental.
