🥵🤯yup.
yes, just kidding, sounds delish. i love veggie chili, with plenty of pure unfiltered corn oil to make up for the lack of fat.
yum😋😋😋
@holon42 Ooooh! I'll be adding a bit of cocoa and since we're not actually vegetarians, I might be cheeky and use beef stock 😜
cocoa? hmmm, that's something i've never thought of.
how does its flavour change the brew 🧙
@holon42 It adds a savoury depth. You only need a little. I'll add maybe a teaspoon (15ml/5g) to this recipe. Cocoa and chillies are born to be together.
There's an old saying in cookery:
If it grows together, it goes together.
i'll try that next batch👌🏽
@holon42 @stueytheround a pinch of cinnamon is also tasty in there. And if you sautee the veg in a wee bit of bacon fat well...
hey, bacon has been the downfall of many a vegetarian aspiration.🤨
cinnamon though, yes, i can see that. i always use cumin with beans.
@holon42 bacon 🥓 is truly the crack of meats
no question.👍🏼
🥓💯🥓💯🥓💯🥓💯🥓
@Annothername @holon42 @stueytheround
I love y’all, but at this point, is it really chili? 😉
@ATXJane It's not *Texas* chili nor is it trying to be ❤️ @Annothername @holon42
@stueytheround @ATXJane @Annothername
we haven't suggested pineapple yet🤔
I usually add a little cocoa, too. It works really well with the earthiness of beans and chiles.
And chocolate and chiles are a traditional Mexican combination. Think mole negro--which I use as an inspiration for my chili.
oh, go meat naked for a change. take the plunge🤣into pure veggies.
@holon42 I have veggie buillon too. It's all about what mood I'm in as I'm cooking. 🤣
that's a good way to cook. it adds a je ne sais quoi 👌🏽to the meal.
@holon42 It'll be a big ole pot so it's not going to blow anyone's head off but so much flavour! 😋
