"Important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so!"

In other words, "we don't want you seeing that we are liking racist posts, misleading posts, disinformation posts, and we definitely don't want you seeing that we like posts in favor of Russia and any other countries lead by dictators etc"

Looking at what users "like" is a good way to gage what they are about that's why musk wants it private

X's director of engineering Haofei Wang confirmed the news on X back then, saying in a post, "Public likes are incentivizing the wrong behavior. For example, many people feel discouraged from liking content that might be 'edgy' in fear of retaliation from trolls, or to protect their public image."

"Soon you’ll be able to like without worrying who might see it," wrote Wang.

X will officially start hiding public "likes" on posts, as soon as today.

The news comes from a source at the company, as reported by the Verge.

@th3j35t3r unconventional yet fitting products a stainless steel whistle

¯\(°_o)/¯

Yeah so the cybertruck and Tesla drivers can blow the whistles when they crash and end up stuck 😆

How the heck is a whistle, stainless steel or not, a fitting product - journalists who are "Stans" of that eejit Musk are the worst of all the Elon Stans

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real

The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

@PurpleDragon ikr

id have been paying 30 quid more a month if i went for the 8

only had mine a few days now there was a delivery problem they sent the wrong device lol managed to get another £3.50 knocked off my monthly price because of it - king of haggling 😂 that was a discount added to my discount

@FireMonkey watch that video he uses a 8 against the 7a and there ain't much difference

for the price the 7a is at now it's worth it

@corlin it is deffo one of they companies where loyal folk will buy - and now seems they'll allow updates to OS so you won't need to purchase newer devices which might land more customers and maybe why its a little expensive for what it does

definitely a neat device

when i was looking for a new device i saw this vid

why you should consider a pixel 7a in 2024

youtu.be/Nv0q9-WXOE8

if like me you can't justify paying over £300 for a device the pixel 7a is definitely worth considering - i got a great deal via my mobile provider when upgrading my contract

@corlin neat

bit pricey though, i just got a pixel for 100 quid cheaper than that, but i like it has 5g and hotspot function with nfc chip

personally I'm midrange prices guy 300 quid is a max i can justify

@amarand @kel outraged at your outraged by the outrage 🙈🙉🙊

This appears to be the first Linux laptop with Qualcomm's high-end laptop chip

Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon X Elite is able to outperform Apple's M2 chip with higher efficiency, so it should be promising in a Linux laptop. The prototype is codenamed "Drako," and it was shown off during Computex

Apple has been using ARM-based Apple Silicon chips in its Macs for a few years now, and ARM Windows laptops are becoming common, but we haven't seen many Linux laptops move away from the x86 architecture. Thankfully, there's at least one option coming soon.

Tuxedo Computers, a company that already sells laptops and desktops built for Linux, confirmed that it is working on an ARM-based Linux laptop using Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Elite chipset.
