Every day, someone, somewhere, puts on roller skates.

One summer I worked at the general store my uncle owned, in the town he owned next to the Spokane Indian reservation (and downwind of the Dawn mining uranium refinery, btw).

Every month on the day the government checks came in, the old men lined up for 2 bottles of Thunderbird.

He'd sell each of them no more than that until all the wives and kids had their groceries.

How to stop this, or at least twist their knickers:

Sue over which version of "The Ten Commandments" they used.

They're prepared to shoot down the constitutionality issues; but not the sectarian issue. Surely Catholicism, Judaism, and others have a right to their religious nonsense being displayed. The various versions are irreconcilable.

The stock market must go up, because the rich have to put their increasing riches somewhere: they can't possibly spend it all. Anyone or any entity who has less than $200 million or so in stock is simply riding the on the backs of the giants.

Murphy's Irish Stout. Amazing. Similar to Guinness, but better.

Oopsy.

Democrats have expensive (but worthless) consultants to hire - that's why they need monies. Organizing volunteers is way down their list.

That crunchy cold chocolate shell on a dipped popsicle. The best.

Go check to make sure you can vote. It's the most important step to preserve our Democracy. And it's so simple!

Tell everyone you know, and everyone you meet. Tell them to "Do it Now". And do it.

Pink Floyd's Live recording of Atom Heart Mother, at KQED, April 19, 1970. Seminal progressive rock album, excellent video, too. A treasure.

Did I ever tell you guys my best "You might be a redneck" joke?

You might be a redneck if you know which brands of beer your dogs prefer.

@sentientdessert

That's right. Currently the computer just cheats up while cheating the player down. Human head-to-head is dramatically different.

When AI can effectively play Civilization, then tell me it's going to replace humans.

It's almost laughable. When was growing up I was so thirsty for knowledge, and now I can access so much pure information.

However, when I try to deep dive into many things I'm stymied by a limit on historical data.

I was searching for videos of the 1920's racing boat "Rainbow IV". The original is lost to time, but a replica exists. Except there are only a few short clips of her, and nothing very satisfying.

So I just have to laugh. All the information in the world - except what I want. 😭

Yes, but the extinction event was made certain by the "supreme" court on December 12, 2000; when they appointed a climate change denier as preznit instead of the guy who both won the election and wrote a book on the subject.

Also, Reagan began the (accelerating) death of the middle class and wealth inequality.

It's all fucked up, and it's not going to be easy to fix.

Heh. Cute.
