Honestly, when I heard of this current shooting in Maine, I was like: " Ho hum, this is boring already. Do something different for attention. I get it. You're white and have the white privilege of having/using your assault rifle to kill, knowing YOU won't be killed by white police. But, if a black/Mexican person stepped up and killed you, terrorist guy, THAT person would certainly be shot/killed by white police. Tell me, who's crazy?

The horrific news coming out of Maine spurred me to look something up.
The terrible events in Isreal have left 8,000 dead, Israeli and Palestinian (source: Google)
In the US before today 15,507 people have died in gun violence. That's NOT counting suicides. This is just counting crimes (source: gunciolencearchive.org).
How safe do YOU feel?
The US is of a size that we don't notice the unbelievable violence we suffer under because it is so diluted in terms of physical space.

@Jacki @COSOCOM yeeep hence why I said I had zero trust in the bird site, it is likely bots reusing footage from other arrests in the country, it appears that it was helicopter footage and I don't think the police have released footage that quickly, and I do not believe any of our locals news stations have helicopters

Personal anecdote
Many years ago I spent a week in Lewiston Maine. It was for a junior long rifle championship meet. My team came in third and the locals won. Now this was a long time ago, but what I remember is almost everyone around owned a rifle, of some sort. And to a person they were extremely safety conscious. Big turnout at the meet. Most folks hunted, and talked nonstop about hunting, and gunsmithing.
An AR-15–style rifle, makes a horrible hunting tool.
