........the brand with the highest number of fatal crashes per mile might surprise you. (didn't surprise me)
It’s an American automaker, a relative newcomer, exclusively builds EVs and has arguably the most controversial (and richest) CEO in vehicular history. Yes, it’s Tesla. iSeeCars pegs the Tesla fatality rate at 5.6 accidents per billion vehicle miles traveled.

I found out yesterday that Goddard College closed a few months ago. Heartbreaking. Goddard inherited the progressive lineage from Black Mountain once it closed. John Dewey philosophy. Goddard is where I got my MFA, one of the best gifts I ever gave myself.
Hard news, but I trust that somewhere, sometime, the genius and beauty will be continued

It would be a mighty cold day in Hell before I would ever buy a Tesla.
Do I have the energy to decorate my large crape myrtles with thousands of lights this year? No, I do not. Plus, taking all the lights off the trees is almost as daunting a task. This year will just feature hundreds of lights in each of the window boxes and some wreaths and swags.

Sick of Black Friday commercialism? My November tradition is donating my gently used clothes, shoes, household goods, puzzles, and more to my local thrift store. For many folks in our county, it’s the only affordable shopping option. The proceeds fund after-school programs for at-risk kids. It’s a win-win-win.

ok so i joined a gym in July, to get stronger.
because i had been getting flabby and lazy and then read a terrifying article about how aging accelerates around age 60 (my current condition).
turns out i found the right place, i LOVE it, and while i haven't lost much weight, i am pretty sure by my clothes that i am redistributing some of it.
but i am old, so 3 days a week seems prudent. 4 was too much (SO sore).
except now on the "off" days i miss it and feel grumpy.

At 14 years of age and 62 pounds, Mr. Tan Man is supposedly the equivalent of 88 in human years according to the Nonlinear Wheel Of Canine Aging posted at the veterinarian’s office. You wouldn’t know it, as he is more spry and energetic than his aging human mom. Our long walks have probably helped us both. My bad knee has slowed me down, and he has thoughtfully slowed his gait to incorporate more #sniffari activity. Together, we persevere. #DogsOfCoSo

I THINK this is some kind of palmetto (not sure which variety). They grow everywhere on the bayou, but you risk your life if you try to get to them. Too many snakes and alligators, among many other bitey critters.

When we built our retirement home, we added this path between our back yard and our neighbors’ back yard. They’re wonderful people who impressed us immediately when we met them during construction. This week, we’re hosting them for Thanksgiving. Sadly, due to their many surgeries, they’re no longer sufficiently ambulatory to make this short journey so they’ll be driving and coming in through our handrail-equipped garage.
This Thanksgiving - and every day - we should be thankful for the #immigrants harvesting our crops. Mass deportation would devastate their lives - and our food chain.
