@vegtabill I'm starting to think I might be doing the same soon. Game has developed a nasty bug on my Series X where every 15-20 mins, walking through a door freezes the game on the load screen. Tried all the usual things all the way up to a console reset and no dice "fixing" it. It's not unplayable.. quite.. but I might be mainlining the story just so I can say I saw "the end", instead of playing it like I have been.
@vegtabill Indeed. The game has absolutely failed to live up to the hype. A bunch of walled gardens separated by loading screens ain't the exploration I was promised. I did expect something like what it is, just not this much. At least they worked with Id to get the gunplay feeling right. I didn't expect No Man's SkyXBethesda, but yeah, disappointing how much time is spent in the menu/loading screen. I'm still enjoying it, but this shouldn't have a chance at serious GOTY contention.
@vegtabill The entire time I've been playing, I've been thinking "Man, just imagine what this game could have been like if they'd moved to Unreal Engine."
So uh, Starfield ProTip: terrormorphs can open doors.
Starfield, 4ish hours in impressions: It's def a Bethesda game. Enemy AI is sporadic. Companions still work hard to get in your way. It's still fun to succeed with a persuasion and then attack the people that have been harassing you. Shooting feels surprisingly good. Not positive I like the control layout yet. I see why people call it Planetfield, you do seem to be able to bypass space a lot. Music is good. Dialogue well written. #Starfield #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #SeriesX

Currently 200 items left on my #PS3 DL list. New SSD says 356gb free space left. So I should be able to finish the list and still have space to install/play disc games. .. well, maybe game, singular 😀 Biggest PITA: #PSVita games that aren't labeled. Waste of bandwidth. Funny to look at the files sizes, whole games under 30gb. That's a patch today, lol. #Gaming #VideoGames #CoSoGaming
@JeffRome2023 Sure didn't. BK is a rather popular moniker. I acquired mine in 2005 when, out of frustration while trying to pick an AIM name, I put in "blackknight" and smashed the 10 key. Used this screen name ever since.
Our internet was down for the last 21 hours. After this morning's deep clean of the RV, I launched Audacious, selected the "ambient" genre, and let the music flow while I read a book. The Lost Airman. Good read, took me about 4 hours. Here's a review from Army University Press: https://www.armyupress.army.mil/Journals/Military-Review/MR-Book-Reviews/August-2017/Book-Review-020/
Here's how I spent my morning. Installed a TB SSD in my PS3. Now I'm working my way through the DL list. I hate this stupid list so much, I'll need glad to be done with it. Also, going through it reminds me how Sony definitely took more chances in the past. .detuned? Linger In Shadows? They had some interesting stuff going on with this console. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames
Recently played through High On Life. Yeah, I'm aware of all the shit going on there. It's on #GamePass so I didn't buy it outright. It was aight. Decent shooter with good mechanics and talking guns. Mercifully you could shut them up some in the settings. Funniest bit in the game is there's a theater you can materialize that's playing a seriously bad movie 3 aliens in the front row riff on. Sat through the whole thing lol. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #SeriesX

You are Rania. It's your first night on the job at Cloudpunk, a no questions asked delivery service. It's going to be a long one.
This game is Voxel Bladerunner: Delivery Walking Sim. You fly around Nivalis making deliveries and meeting interesting characters. The music, setting, stories, ambiance are great. The controls are mostly good. The voice acting is the one weakness. Still, I enjoyed it 👍 #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames
@Skyye Fasho. I mean the Deck is a pretty good upgrade from my PC, which I intend to prove by installing at least LotRO since it's in Steam but I really do wanna check WoW on it since I can check FPS and such in game there. LotRO FPS counter doesn't seem to work, or hasn't on the install on my PC anyway. Assuming I can get decent frames at the same settings I use now for either game (I would be shocked if I didn't), yeah current gen card will do just fine 😁
@Skyye I've been quite impressed with what the Deck can do, and frankly, that level of performance is plenty good enough for me. I'm going to be doing some testing with the Deck soon, install and run WoW and LotRO on it, see how it performs. I've seen that people have done it but I wanna get some hands on myself. This PC runs on an i7 2.5ghz from 2010, which is 1st gen IIRC, and a 1050 TI. 3 gens ago gear would be a massive upgrade lol, and I'm not picky. This gen AMD will be fine.
@Skyye yeah I'm aware, there's no way I'm spending for that card anyway. Frankly a 3060 is OP for what I intend to do with a PC 95% of the time. I'm going to be looking into what level of AMD I can get for the same price as the 3060 is listed at. The fact that Valve stuck AMD in the Steam Deck and I've enjoyed my experience with it so far is definitely making me lean towards AMD.
@Skyye Normally I would disagree with you, as I run Linux exclusively and I've always had good experiences with Nvidia chips. .. However, as I have tried to stay up to speed on the industry I'm aware that both AMD CPUs and GPUs are getting much better support these days (by which I mean, any support lol, Intel AMD Nvidia Linux support is still sketchy at best) so my build list does include a Ryzen CPU. I'm debating which GPU to use still, currently have RTX 3060, may swap in an AMD.
@Skyye Thanks. Already did a fresh install, updated, got the usual system stuff installed, setup the basics so I'm about halfway back to where I was. Also downloaded a few OS ISOs, so I'll be setting up LiveUSBs and testing those over the next few weeks, looking to see if I can find something more agreeable. Plus I'm now seriously contemplating a PC upgrade. This one has served me well but I think 13ish years is long enough.
Not how I wanted to spend any part of today: reinstalling my OS. Not sure what happened when, but after the usual morning update Discord froze then failed to reopen. Attempt from terminal came back with "read only" errors. Somehow my home folder got locked to read only. So I'm currently on a live disk copying things off the SSD to prepare for a fresh install. Twice with this OS since I started using it. Not great. Will be looking for something else, I think. #Garuda #Linux
@Kaysymmetry Recently bought a cosmetically damaged Series X off eBay for $450 all told, to replace a VCR Xbox 1 that bit the dust. My launch day acquired PS5 still gets the most of my console time, but I have quite enjoyed the X these last couple months, it's a solid machine and a good upgrade from previous gen. Also now I will be able to play Starfield, which was the main reason I bought it lol.
