Arcade Paradise is fucking excellent. You have a Game Pass sub, you really have no excuse not to check it out. Also it's $20 most places (ProTip, GoG has it on sale for $13) and well worth it. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #GamePass #Steam #PC #SeriesX #PS4 #PS5 #Switch
Owning a #SteamDeck has made me forget about how behind the state of Linux gaming still is. Bought 3 bundles recently, 2 Humble(RPG Legends, Myst & more), and a publisher one on #Steam. RPGs all work 👍 Myst almost none of them work. Found a workaround for half of them: ScummVM, which I had installed already. Launch, add game, point to folder in Steam library. The publisher bundle I struck out on, none of em work(on my PC 😬 ). Guess I'll be tinkering with Wine. #CoSoGaming #Gaming #VideoGames
I played through the starting area of Fallen Earth this morning. Considering how much work it took to install the game AND get it to launch, even through Steam (on Linux), it was pretty amazing to see it running again. It's the closest we may ever get to Fallout MMO. Yeah it's old and janky, but it sure brings back some memories of when I first started playing it over a decade ago. These days it's entirely FTP, which is nice. #CoSoGaming #Gaming #VideoGames

Return To Monkey Island (Multi, #SeriesX via #GamePass for me)
A triumphant return 😁 for Guybrush Threepwood and company. Guybrush once again faces LeChuck, this time in a race to recover the Secret of Monkey Island. This is old school point and click puzzling at its best. Everything in this game is great, acting, animation, puzzles, 4th wall moments, jokes, music. Hated to see credits roll, but sure enjoyed the journey. It's a must play! #Gaming #VideoGames #CoSoGaming
Rolled credits on Kena: Bridge of Spirits so here's a little review.
TL;DR: It's very good. Good story, good controls, good acting, good gameplay.. till the finale. Wasn't what I expected, and after a few tries I had to turn the difficulty down. Getting old sucks. However, highly recommended to all gamers. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #PS5
ProTip: 5 days is too long to not start a car with the always plugged in dash cam we have, apparently. Bonus ProTip: you can jump a car off an RV battery, charge it too if it's shore plugged to the grid, Partner had a few days off so the truck hadn't moved for a bit. RV Park scheduled an asphalt seal for today so I had to move it, which is hard to do if the battery is dead, heh. Dash cam was the only thing that could have drained it, so I guess I know not to leave it plugged in too long, now.
@th3j35t3r to paraphrase what someone over there said, "hey maybe Elon will understand what it's like to be dead-named now." I'd stick with Twitter, for the time being.
@TomeReader Yep, my OG PS4 controller is still fine. A couple I got later developed a bit of drift, but after years. Both the controllers I got with the 5 were drifting before a year was up, and I'm the only one using em, got 2 when I saw the batteries were smaller. I like the idea of the Edge, but fuck Sony for not going with Hall Effect sticks, basically forcing you to buy replacements once they inevitably develop drift. Hence the Gulikit route, for me.
@TomeReader yeah I've replaced 2 controllers so far, got my console on launch day. I wanna get some joystick modules for my Steam Deck from https://gulikit.com/ and I've noticed they're working on modules for the Dual Sense Edge. I dunno that I wanna spend $200 on a controller just to spend more for hall effect mods, but I have also seen that Gulikit has said they're working on a PS5 controller so I will prob wait on that, assuming it's under $100 like their other kits.
Rolled credits on H:FW's Burning Shores today and boy did I hate to see em, lol. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Still sad about Lance, and curious how they'll address it in the next game as it is obvious he was going to have more than a small role to play. Gotta figure out what's the next game on the "to play" list. The backlog is calling...
So I tried actually playing MLB The Show 23 via Greenlight, took some practice swings, see if the latency was something that would smooth out over time since there aren't any settings I can adjust on the console or app that affected it. Yeah.. not gonna be remote playing any "fast twitch" games on Xbox, lol. I cant say I'm surprised that XBox remote play doesn't work as well as PS5. I usually tend to use the Xbox in the evenings tho so it'll be ok running that big heat producing monitor then.
Got Greenlight working this morning. Wouldn't "see" my console even with "remote features" checked, figured out I needed to test remote play first. Connected no prob then. Tested it out but didn't actually play anything. Seems pretty good, tho I noticed some sound stuttering and some frame skipping. Hopefully something I can smooth out in settings. Not having to use that big monitor will help during hot days this summer. Keep the RV cooler. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #Greenlight #SeriesX #RemotePlay
Pic of my first test of Chiaki, a PS4/PS5 remote play client, Steam Deck version. Installed the sandboxed client from git, then tested. Did the process to set up a wake up script and add the client to Steam. So now, in Gaming mode, it wakes up my 5 and runs in fullscreen. Loaded H:FW and ran around for a min, testing controls and such. Runs so smooth I feel like I stole a Project Q prototype. 1080p looks pretty good on a small screen. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #SteamDeck #PS5 #Chiaki #RemotePlay
@AlphaCentauri @Render You know who's a close second to Thurl, for me anyway? John Carradine. For this, from the awful Coleman Francis movie of the same name as the song, but aka Red Zone Cuba. Thanks, MST3K.

@TrueBloodNet Started with an Atari joystick and moved on from there. Didn't have a "PC" as a kid till high school and that was a Mac +, lol. Kept buying consoles as I got older, so a controller is still what feels most comfy, but I can M/KB pretty well. Course it's a vertical mouse these days, I've got big hands so a claw grip was the best I could do with reg mice thus carpal issues these days. Verts gotten pretty good now, at least.
@TrueBloodNet Yeah I missed EverCrack as I didn't have a "modern" PC until 2005 when my mom gave me her 2000 Dell Dimension. Blew out the Mobo on it trying to keep up with WoW (which was more than that POS could deal with) and built an AMD based PC in 2008 that became my Linux test bed for a few years. Got current PC in 2012. I still prefer consoles for my "hardcore" gaming. I just prefer a controller for most stuff. And these days Sony/M$ boxes are stripped PCs so they high end enough for me 😀
@TrueBloodNet Currently my PCPartPicker list has an Asus ROG STRIX B550-A and a Ryzen 9 5900X + an EVGA 3060 RTX 12gb. I have consoles to keep up with brand new releases so I don't have to go too high end with a PC, which I mostly use for smaller Steam experiences or older MMORPGs like WoW and LotRO, besides daily internet driving. I figure, assuming QC doesn't totally fail me, the build I'm looking at should suit me for about as long as current PC has managed.
@TrueBloodNet Nice. I just (yeah I'm way behind lol) installed a SATA SSD on this machine for the new OS. after all those years of HDDs it's amazing how much an SSD has improved this old bastard. Boots almost as fast as my Steam Deck now 🤪 I've replaced/upgraded stuff over the years, but at this point a "max level" upgrade would cost, minimum, half what a new build would be so I'm thinking spacing out build parts over the next year-ish is the way to go. Turn this thing into a media server maybe.
