@TrueBloodNet At least the PC keeps working, I just have to reset it lol. Not long ago I had a Linux Mint bork so hard it wouldn't boot to the login screen any more. 24 hours later I had installed a new OS, all the programs/apps I use on a daily basis, and migrated necessary files so it was almost like nothing had happened. I did have to learn some new commands, first Arch-based OS for me.

@TrueBloodNet Aye, same. Whitelisted CoSo cause otherwise the advanced layout goes wonky. Realistically it's likely the OS. It's in it's third year now so it's still pretty new. I'll have a look in their forums later today and see if there's anybody else having the same issue, might get lucky.

@TrueBloodNet I tend to wonder if it isn't YouTube. Both days the freeze happened while a vid was playing. Google is certainly not fond of adblockers, lol.

@poemblaze I'm investigating it, but I doubt I'll be able to lock down something solid unless I find a thread in the OS forums that's full of people like me trying to figure out WTF is going on lol.

What it's really making me do is seriously look to game plan building a new PC. This one has served me well, esp as I got it as one of a pair from a guy working at a gaming company that was about to e-waste them when they were a year old. Cost? A tank of gas 😀 But yeah, it's time to retire it.

That moment when you're unsure if the reason your PC has locked up 2 mornings in a row is because

1. It's fucking old. (12 yearsish)
2. Firefox is just not really a usable browser any more.
3. The mostly unknown bleeding edge rolling release Arch-based OS you're running.

I update every morning then do my usual internet routine: hit the socials, catch up on YT subs, check emails/RSS while listening to my SoundCloud feed. Last 2 days the PC has frozen, had to reset. *shrug*

Dido - Thank You (Skeler Remix)

This is quite an amazing rework. Couldn't remember so I looked up the release date of the original track and now my back hurts.

I have finally completed (.. mostly) the "restoration" of this 29" MTB. Stripped, primed, painted the frame (Rich Plum). New tires, tubes, Shimano bottom bracket. New cables/sheathing. Quick link in the chain. Repacked both wheel hubs, but I need to replace the bearings, esp the rear, has a wicked wobble. Front suspension is a little sticky, need to work on that. Gears are tuned. Took a little test ride in the park, I'm (mostly) satisfied with it.

Arrog (Multiplatform, played on )

Arrog is a very short .. "game". It's quite minimalist, very linear and requires only a few actions by the player to complete the story. It reminds me of Flash games from like 2005. Very simple, little experiences you could knock out in a half hour. It was enjoyable enough, but I don't know that I'd recommend it unless it's on sale (how I got it) or you are a trophy/achieve hunter.

Russian MoD released a statement before Putin speaks...

You can smell the fear through the screen.

Well, I can.

Well, all's well that ends well, I guess? Pippen still reeks of fear piss so he needs to get to work cleaning himself, but for the most part he's back to acting "normally". Came up for dinner on the porch as usual last night, then came back to chill a few hours later. When I went to shut the door for the night he didn't run but stuck around for pets. Was waiting for breakfast this morning with his usual high pitched "mew ew ew?" So I guess the shelter trauma is behind him, mostly.

We have retrieved Pippen from the shelter. He was apparently a terror. We knew he had some issues with being enclosed, some trauma that has stuck with him. Seems this experience brought out his worst. At one point he escaped from his enclosure, he was combative, etc. We had to "borrow" a carrier because they didn't think a transfer to ours was possible. Let him sit inside the RV for a bit so he'd know he was "home". Let him out and he ran under the truck. Came out for food/water. Seems calm now.

Took this stray guy we've been calling Pippen into the shelter yesterday. He had a cat fight infection on his face that was causing swelling. We were hoping maybe they'd keep him to adopt him out, but the shelter doesn't have space for "healthy" cats. He got antibiotics, shots, and lost his nuts. We told the shelter if they couldn't keep him we'd bring him back here. Maybe we can find him a home, now that he's had his shots etc. Hope he's not too pissed at us, heh.

Rolled credits on Hi-Fi RUSH and wrote a review. TL,DR: It's a fun experience even for those that aren't great at the genre. Definitely recommend checking it out if you have Game Pass.

In between trying to make it to The Show with my Road to the Show dude in MLB The Show 23 (did the other night, btw), I've been playing Hi-Fi Rush. Not a huge rhythm game fan but I'm quite enjoying it. Dope music, decent story/acting, and it doesn't punish you if you aren't dead on time (some boss battles require at least one well timed sequence in order to defeat it). Really good show by Tango Gameworks, esp since they shadow dropped it outta nowhere lol.

On Sunday I stained the bedroom door I made for our RV. Chose Black Walnut, Danish oil type. Seemed to be the closest color to the wood and "wood", judging by a sample picture on a phone screen held up next to the stuff 😆 . Only had to do one pass, any more and it would have been too dark. Once I put the door back in its place it almost looks like it was made with the RV so I guess I did aight.

The MTB restoration is progressing nicely. Have stripped all the orange paint off the frame and hardware. Primed the frame. Pulled wheel hubs and cleaned/repacked bearings, same with the rear cassette. New tires and tubes installed, look real nice. Still waiting for paint/clear to show up, next week which is good since it's really humid ATM, primer crazed a little. Don't want the color coat to do that but it's gonna warm and dry up here soon.

Also needs new tires and tubes. Gonna make this one my bike, let my partner use the '85 Schwinn Sierra. I figure she'll be able to keep up with me on it if we ride together since I always left her in the dust without even trying when we rode before lol.

Bought a pair of mountain bikes from a neighbor for $20. 26' Kent "women's", front suspension/disc brake. Pulled the bottom bracket/wheel hubs, cleaned and repacked bearings, tuned the gears into shape. $150 bike, sell it for $50 at least.

29' "men's" brand ? because the dumbass BRUSH painted it orange, thick coat too. Full suspension, front disc brake. Tore it down to frame, paint stripper overnight. Replacing bottom bracket w/Shimano sealed BB, new cables maybe shifters. 1/2
