Took this stray guy we've been calling Pippen into the shelter yesterday. He had a cat fight infection on his face that was causing swelling. We were hoping maybe they'd keep him to adopt him out, but the shelter doesn't have space for "healthy" cats. He got antibiotics, shots, and lost his nuts. We told the shelter if they couldn't keep him we'd bring him back here. Maybe we can find him a home, now that he's had his shots etc. Hope he's not too pissed at us, heh. #CatsOfCoSo
Well, all's well that ends well, I guess? Pippen still reeks of fear piss so he needs to get to work cleaning himself, but for the most part he's back to acting "normally". Came up for dinner on the porch as usual last night, then came back to chill a few hours later. When I went to shut the door for the night he didn't run but stuck around for pets. Was waiting for breakfast this morning with his usual high pitched "mew ew ew?" So I guess the shelter trauma is behind him, mostly. #phew

We have retrieved Pippen from the shelter. He was apparently a terror. We knew he had some issues with being enclosed, some trauma that has stuck with him. Seems this experience brought out his worst. At one point he escaped from his enclosure, he was combative, etc. We had to "borrow" a carrier because they didn't think a transfer to ours was possible. Let him sit inside the RV for a bit so he'd know he was "home". Let him out and he ran under the truck. Came out for food/water. Seems calm now.
