Well, I have done what I set out to do when I started with these Dual Senses. I have 4 Hall Effect controllers that will never drift again. Bonus, one of them also looks like a slick custom job tho I had to fudge an R1 button from an older model into a newer one until I can find a replacement. Long as you don't look at that it looks sweet. I'm calling it the Frieza for obvious reasons. Other one was pretty messed up when I got it. Not any more.

sooooo.. Just bought a pair of broken Dual Senses off eBay for $60. One Galactic Purple, one white. Purple one's shell is pretty scuffed. Curious if the board will fit into an OG white shell. Looking into some HE sticks for my Series controllers. I guess I need to add "microsoldering" to my hobby list. Obvious ProTIp: hot air wands shouldn't be messed with. See pic. Bonus points to anyone that can ID what the tatt is.

I have now modified my 2 Galactic Purple Dual Sense controllers with Hall Effect sticks. Calibrated them within .04-.06 of dead center. Reassembled and tested all functions. Everything works. There is no stick drift, and there never will be again. I wish I hadn't failed with the 2 OG white ones that came with my PS5. Considering buying a couple used/broken ones just to fix em. Shit I might start flipping controllers as a side deal lol.

The first Dual Sense Hall Effect stick swap went terribly awry. The second attempt went much better.. except the L shoulder buttons no longer register. Changed the cable, cleaned the connector, went over the PCB for any lost/askew components, even tested continuity across the connector with my multimeter. Still no. So I got 4/5ths of a Dual Sense HE controller, heh. Still 2 left to go. Thought about buying used, but "parts only" on eBay lists for $40. People are nuts.

@th3j35t3r "Used my brain" wonder if they're suffering from an RFK brain worm.

@AskTheDevil Absolutely. Recently bought a Gulikit KK3 to use with this PC. Works great, mostly (Linux, so yeah not perfectly heh). Best part about it is updating it is as simple as connecting to USB and drag/dropping a file.

As for the Dual Sense(s), 40 bucks to (hopefully, if my soldering skills are still decent) fix 4 controllers up with Hall Effects instead of 200 for one Edge so I could at least swap out drift sticks for new ones? Hell yeah. Eat it, Sony.

Well, well, well. I see that there are now hall effect joystick replacements available for Dual Sense controllers... I have 4 of them at this point, because my OG pair started drifting after a year. Current pair have started to drift as well. A kit to replace the sticks on 2 controllers is 18 bucks. I do believe I know what my next project is going to be.

It sucks that this game ends on a cliffhanger. The studio is currently in a bad way, having just laid off all employees. The 2 founders haven't taken a salary in months while they desperately pitched stuff to publishers that wasn't picked up. They are trying to Kickstart part 3 of this series, so I guess we'll see what happens there.

Deliver Us Mars (Multi, XP'd on PS5)
Sequel to Deliver Us the Moon, venture to Mars as Kathy in search of her father and the people that abandoned Earth to its fate a decade ago.
It's more of the same from the 1st game, puzzle out traversal routes, watch holograms of the past to discover what happened, find collectibles. The plastic char models don't do justice to the great voice acting/the emotions they convey. Good game, tho. deliverusmars.com/

@ucantstop_me Next she's gonna say she didn't actually do the narration, they got an AI to copy her voice.

Mango (PC)
Highly surrealist FP adventure exploring a mind losing touch with reality.
This game is easily in the top ten weirdest games I've ever played list. It's a bit hard to recommend it? You have to be willing to overlook some rather wonky looking art/assets. Also there's a lot of backtracking. Plus some sensitive subject matter, and a bunch of strobe lighting effects. I enjoyed it, but it's likely an acquired taste.

Botany Manor (PC/Xbox/Switch, XP'd on Series X) It's 1890, and Arabella has returned to her manor and its garden. Grow and catalog some interesting plants.
This is a cozy FP walking sim/Puzzle game. Very similar look as The Witness etc. Quite odd plants you must puzzle out how to grow, lol. It's fairly short, 4ish hours. I do rather like the Victorian setting as well.

Ok. I am now curious how many of y'all (after posting Coil) know Negativland. So here's Sycamore. youtu.be/KoKZ7YZ5AI8
