When asked “what’s your favorite thing about them” to a couple that’s been together 30+ years why is the guy’s response almost always “she puts up with me”?

@annamuneca IMO, it’s because we dudes know we’re idiots and have had partners in the past who don’t appreciate our brand of idiocy. 🤷♂️
@annamuneca , I think some people aren't good at talking about tender feelings. It seems like a self deprecating attempt at redirection.
@LadyZurk it’s kind of a sucky answer though and seems lazy. I think it’s important to be able to tell your partner once in a while something you appreciate about them. It’s an incredible relationship strengthener.
@annamuneca , yeah. I give specific compliments fairly often, not just to the spouse. IDK. W just isn't wired that way.
@annamuneca I wouldn't name that as the favorite thing about someone, but I would put it high in the list of why relationships survive.
