Stop and smell the #roses.

The campus roses are enjoying the warm November.

It took a while to catch this guy. He was moving pretty fast, and all I could see at first was a flicker of motion out of the corner of my eye. He blends so well into the background. There's a whole family of Brown Thrashers living in one of our intentional brush piles down in the meadow.

This gets me every time… this is the inscription put up by Icelanders to mark the total disappearance of the huge Ok glacier:

“In the next 200 years all our glaciers are expected to follow the same path. This monument is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it.’
