I watch this twice a year. cry every time.

"I was searching for a train station. the kind you rarely see. small. countryside. we found it. & by accident, found something else. . i watched her smile at each passenger. then, noticed her wave at the departing one-car train. surprisingly, she continued waving. she waved until there was no trace left of the distant train. no one witnessed her, except me. in that short span, my love and wonder of life was renewed."

to the influx of people saying "good morning" - too slow to greet you all individually but there's a pot of on and some bread for toast so help yourselves :)

@0x56 I think at large proportion of the current tw@tter discussions are about him or the platform so it looks like it's actually eating itself. The ad thing is interesting - I've hardly seen any ads on my feed - not 100% sure if that is bacuse they're not there or I'm highly practiced at ignoring them. Anyway my current usage is a tiny % of what it was and my accounts are locked waiting for data dl and then I'll delete all past tweets and leave them locked.

Last night, one of the students at the tutoring center where I work said something to me that took me by surprise. This kiddo can be an immature, impulsive, quirky and loud kid. She isn’t the favorite student and many find her too annoying.

She said “You’re a good teacher. You’re nice.”

Why shocked? That was her telling me that she struggles w acceptance. She acts out for attention.

THEN it hit me:
I’m her adult version. I know what she wants bcuz I need it too. Acceptance.

Mind blown.

I LOVE this : Colorado voters approved a ballot measure to provide free meals for all public school students.

The measure will help schools pay for the meals by raising $100 million a year by increasing taxes on the state's richest residents.

I love how construction sites in Ireland notify the public of essential information.

Morning Peeps, A Pups memory

Morning 🌄 Joyful Ones,

Ken-Dogger: Morning Sluggo, you hear the news?
Sluggo: No, what’s up?
KD: The economy is coming back, all signs show improvement
S: Wow, this ought to make peeps happy
KD: You would think…
S: There’s a question about feeling good?
KD: Yep, a lot of peeps don’t cotton to JOY right now.
S: It’s just sad when emotions get locked.
KD: It is Sluggo, truly sad.

@Agatha

Brilliant! Turns out my muscle memory for lasted through the 20 odd year hiatus and when I picked up needles again it was like I'd never stopped! I taught myself to crochet earlier this year - that was amusing as I kept ending up with all the stitches on the hook despite repeating in my head "it's not knitting"! 😂

@Tagsit Oh that is fantastic news :) Giving free meals to all pupils is such a great idea as it reduces stigma - those who had free meals at my UK schools were inevitably looked down on and bullied for it - if everyone gets it kids can't be singled out.

@sazemisery Totally. There was a TV drama a few years ago in the UK called "Years and Years" which predicted a nightmarish totalitarian future for the UK complete with "migrant camps" and a Farage type leader. Trouble is too many people still think "it couldn't happen here.. "

@sentientdessert

Totally and utterly... Although I'm not keen on rats

@sazemisery reading this and thinking about some of the dehumanising language used about refugees and migrants in current UK press and govt is depressing...

@Call_Me_Peppermint_Petty

Good morning, I'm discombobulated after a night of weird and vivid dreams... My coffee is black :)

Hope you discover why you feel tentative and go on to have a good day :)

@th3j35t3r

We ought to start a Spartacus/Monty Python thing...

"I'm th3j35t3r and so's my wife"....
