@snyde21 Oh yeah. I was trained years ago as a first responder and have disaster response training. The sustained winds right now are forecast to reach 55 MPH, about 4"-6" of rain, so not that big of a deal. Thank you for asking.

The latest ten-day forecast for us in north Merritt Island. Thursday is up to 68 MPH / 103 KPH.

@LnzyHou Ready to go. I was trained long ago as a first responder and disaster preparedness. We've had 60 MPH winds many times before. The forecast rain totals are 4"-6". Not that bad. No rain in tomorrow's forecast, so we have time to dry out a little bit.

8PM EDT: I am at a loss for words to meteorologically describe you 897mb pressure with 180 MPH max sustained winds and gusts 225 MPH. This is now the 2nd strongest hurricane ever recorded by pressure on this side of the world. The eye is TINY at nearly 3.8 miles wide. This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth's atmosphere can produce. Yes, there is a mathematical limit and we are nearing that.

The Weather.com ten-day forecast for north Merritt Island ... The wind forecast took a big leap overnight, now looking at 41 MPH sustained winds on Thursday.

I found this on the 45th weather squadron's website. It suggests we'll have 34 knot (40 mph) winds but not much more.

We're going to have lots of rain, but 40 mph winds is quite survivable.
