@Studio_M_

I never bought a souvenir there, but took several shots of his bookshelves.

@Studio_M_

I also recommend the Little White House. Great tour & guides there, too.

@Studio_M_ @LnzyHou @Madken65

Agree! I've done the tour with guides several times & each time, I learn something new. The guides are usually really good.

@Studio_M_ @LnzyHou @Madken65

That's the Caribbean Club on US1. They actually used the exterior for the movie, but not the interior.

It's a locals & tourists dive bar on the bay. A decent place to watch the sunsets.

@LnzyHou

Landlord came over yesterday & said he'd have the exterminator come as soon as he can to spray/treat the crawlspace. It being Memorial Day weekend, probably won't happen till next week.

I'm staying vigilant.

Happy Friday!

Coupla maggots still staggering in, but much better than the nightmare that was yesterday morning.

Plan is - by done with all unpacking/organizing/hanging pictures/etc by Sunday.

Then it's on to job hunting next week.

@ps9714

Thanks. I think there may be a gap somewhere between the floor under the DW & the crawlspace under the house & flies/larva can get through.

@Resister_Grandma

I put it on my calendar to respray every 2 months. Not taking any chances.

Gonna call the landlord later & ask him to help me pull out the DW & fridge to clean behind them.

Can't wait to see what filth is there. I'm totally skeeved out.

So, for those of you who are up way too early like me.

Couldn't sleep, so got up at 2:30. Figured I'd unpack some more boxes. Made coffee, and while waiting for it, saw something moving along the vinyl wood-like floor.

It was a maggot. There were more. Lots more. Killed 'em as fast as I could, then watched for where they emerged from. Under the DW.

Landlord told me the previous tenants were gross, but yikes. He & his wife cleaned it well before I got here.

I pest sprayed everywhere. Blech

For Wordy Wednesday.

I don't know about you, but I can't help myself, either. 🤣

@CinnamonGirlE

I kinda love the 1st one - the navy blue w/one nail having a heart in the same color.

So, taking my lunch break & looking up the reason for the Red Cracker butterfly's name - @stueytheround

The underside of its wings are red! Go figure. Picture shows the undersides. Cool, huh?

@stueytheround

Maybe? I haven't gone & looked it up yet. Logical assumption, though.

Twofer Tuesday.

2 blue butterflies. I have to look up why the one is called a 'red' cracker. The cracker part they explain - it's the sound they make.

If you live somewhere that may be prone by heavy rain, flooding, or ponded water, get yourself some of these “mosquito dunks.” They’re made with bacillus thuringiensis, safe for wildlife, but deadly for mosquito larvae. With a rise in mosquito-borne diseases affecting people and pets, it’s important to be proactive.

I stole this cat picture from someone on here . . . a while back.

Please forgive me, but I made a meme out of it. I love this picture. Thanks!

Happy Caturday!
