In WW2 there were Nazi's here in the US, advocating and supporting the movement overseas and trying to dismantle the war efforts in the US. People with power, with money, that poured funding into slowing the war machine, and pulling the US out of the war against Nazi Germany. The biggest issue in this is that we have people in power, people WITH power, that have been feeding and stoking the fires of this type of behavior for how many years now? 20, 30+ years? Bias and persecution is something that is joined hand in hand with every person, a bias fuels persecution and creates harmful views of groups of people that don't deserve it. The good news of my day; I filed my documents for a namechange grant with the Trans lifeline organization in my state! It's a first come first serve sort of program, so crossing my fingers!! #LGBTQ

I ended up sharing with my therapist about my actions this week in writing to Gov. Gretchen, and her response letter. He's hugely supportive of keeping a watch and speaking out to protect LGBTQ+ in our state, and a truly active voice in the state legislature as well. I guess it's safe to say that politics do in fact effect the mental health and well being of those targeted in those bills.
