Australia puts large mesh bags on their storm drains to capture plastics and other garbage. This is a great idea. Sure it doesn't do much for micro plastics but it's better than not doing anything

@CinnamonGirlE

It depends on who is PM and whether He/She have a majority government.

We have our own miniTFG (Pierre Poilievre - aka PP)here and his party (CPC) will do their darndest to make abortion illegal again should they get a majority government, and sadly with the media here mostly owned by the American right wing Postmedia Network Inc, and similar groups from here who are slanting their papers and video to support PP who never ever tells the truth.

Dél̨ın̨e, Northwest Territories is where hockey was born. It's about 500km (~300mi) north of Yellowknife NWT.

In 1824, Sir John Franklin and his crew were wintering at what was then called Fort Franklin. In a diary entry, he mentions his men passing the time with games of hockey played on the ice.

A Pregnant Teenager Died After Trying to Get Care in Three Visits to Texas Emergency Rooms

Fails, who would have seen her daughter turn 20 this Friday, still cannot understand why Crain’s emergency was not treated like an emergency.

Scientists Create Plant-Animal Hybrids That Photosynthesize

In a world first that challenges what we thought we knew about biology, scientists have successfully engineered animal cells that can photosynthesize. The breakthrough promises to revolutionize medical research and scale up the production of lab-grown meat.

insideclimatenews.org/news/041

For years, researchers and climate scientists have urged people, especially in rich countries, to cut back on meat and dairy consumption to limit greenhouse gas emissions from livestock production.

[...]

The new research suggests, though, that strategically regrowing forests on land where cattle currently graze, especially in certain parts of the world, while intensifying production in other areas, could significantly lower overall emissions.

You go LA County - stick it to Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola - grist.org/accountability/la-co

Los Angeles County announced last week that it’s suing PepsiCo and Coca-Cola over plastic pollution, arguing that the soda giants’ plastic bottles have harmed public health and the environment and that the companies knowingly misled the public about their products’ recyclability.

@peeppeepcircus Hopefully enough will happen to make his backers for the takeover of Twitter to pull out - that will tank the stock completely.

The lab was found in Falkland, British Columbia, a rural town of under 1,000 residents about a four-hour drive north of the U.S. border. Police believe the work of that lab is linked to another nearby facility, where the police last month seized 30 tons of precursor chemicals used to produce drugs.
