I'm watching the Scarlet and the Black. It's based on a true story about the Catholic resistance in Italy during the 2nd World War.
It's a poignant tale of resistance, but also love, and hope, held even for those that wish to see you destroyed.
I highly recomend it. Gregory Peck, Christopher Plummer, you can't go wrong.
@Lindy Hi Buddy! How goes the day?
@kendonnelly Thank you for joining me on the journey, groovy soul!
This dockworker strike I think is underscoring a wider issue.
It's gotten insanely difficult to make it in the world today. People can't live or survive on what they're making all the while the wealth is concentrating in the hands of fewer folk.
I'm not someone that identifies as either Liberal or conservative, but I am a student of history. We are entering a period that, without great change, things could grow far worse.
There's been a lot of things out of calibration. My sleep has been off, and especially in the last two weeks, something has seriously been out of calibration.
My recovery seems shot. Is this age? Am I fighting off a bug? Are aliens abducting me and putting me through my paces at night?
Who knows, but I'm going to watch this mindfully and make the best decisions I can.
Good morning groovy souls.
No gym today. I want to go, quite intently, I've been doing everything i can for the last four hours to try to get to a place where I can go run, but the body is just not there.
I know if I push this thing, it's going to break.
This has been happening the last few weeks, and I don't understand what it means, but I'm working through it as best I can.
Acceptance is not surrender but a path to overcoming the obstacle.

So I'm going to try my luck on here, (and maybe just maybe if this gets boosted enough I'll be lucky)... Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of the English edition for Simona Kossak's The Bialowieza Forest Saga? I've tried almost all avenues for a few years now... Also considered trying to learn Polish to read the more readily available original edition.

Whether there's nobody out there, or it's turtles all the way down, doesn't change the fact that we're all here.
With each other.
We can make something nice from that, or we can fuck it up.
It doesn't matter who is correct about what holds the sun up or who keeps the serpent from eating it, or whether anyone made it in the first place.
It matters how we treat each other and what we build.
🖤
@MLClark @AskTheDevil @Jorro @thewebrecluse The philosopher was Byung-Chul Han by the way and I think I'm going to get his work "The Crisis of Narration"
We are a community, and we sometimes have disagreements. There are people of all manner of ideologies and ways of life that are on here, from the traditional to the exceedingly eccentric. (Hi!)
Yesterday I had a very wide ranging discussion about free will and determinism with @MLClark @AskTheDevil @Jorro @thewebrecluse and others.
THough we are all quite different and we got quite deep, we were all respectful of each other and had a good chat.
That is community, and a very good one.
I was watching a youtube video that was a deep analysis of Tarantino's films over lunch, and it got into a wander, talking about the effect of social media on culture.
Most notably it cited a Korean philosopher who has spoken about Social Media being antithetical to the formation of true community, substituting community for random hits of attention.
Then I thought about Coso, which is in many ways the antithesis of social media.
