@Meekspees Sorry for the long delay in response, but I was traveling and didn't have access. Anyway, the neighbor did it exactly right. It doesn't look brand new. It looks old and well-cared-for. Just the way I wanted it!

@Meekspees As a matter of fact, yes! I have an old church pew that's been in my family for over 50 years. It was looking old and worn out. I asked my neighbor, a furniture refinisher, to spruce it up. He did a beautiful job, and today's the day we're moving it back into my house!

Really bright, clear, sunny day yesterday, which meant a really, really cold clear night. Looks like more of the same today. Love the winter sunshine here in the cold northeast!

@Rstrahs Understood and I agree. It's not as easy as it used to be, but it's still possible to find good people on that side of the aisle.

@Rstrahs A fact that is recognized by all but their cult members.

@duglop
Here's one: Drivers who stop in the middle of the road for no apparent reason, and then wave out a car from a side street that had been sitting at a stop sign. Who appointed them traffic director?

@KarenSohne @duglop I've been there, but hadn't known the term, "young fogeys." I love it and I know so many!

@duglop It's so weird to be with people my age and think, "God, they're old!!"

40 Years of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams are Made of This."

Truly sweet. Who am I to disagree, indeed!

@dissidentrocks Had a talk with a VERY Catholic friend of mine about this move away from democracy and she said, "Do you really think democracy is worth saving? It doesn't give you moral answers, it just gives you consensus." I said, "So you want a theocracy," and she said, "At least then we'd have a moral compass." My response, "You may like that now, but what happens when Muslims become the majority?" Her answer: "That's why we have to keep them out." Ugh, and double ugh.

@feloneouscat I'm sorry. I would have DM'd you about it instead of this public thing, but I haven't figured out how to do that here yet. Also, they're both very, very bad guys, so it makes sense to conflate the two names.

@feloneouscat
I agree with you, but don't you mean DiSantis? Santos is the liar from New York who invented absolutely everything about his past and present.

@TXPamInOH This is why the end space, as you clearly know, is so coveted among those of us who care about our cars. I'll park an extra 100 yards away from the entrance just to get away from other people and get an end space. I get almost no door dings. My 2010 Ford Focus with over 200,000 miles looks like it just came out of the showroom!

New Year = New Running shoes, since I'm on a quarterly-replacement basis. Wow, these things are nice! You never know how worn out the old ones are until you slip into some new ones!

@Jezibaba A group of mimes went on a crime spree.

They committed unspeakable acts.

January 30th in the northeast, and I was able to go out running at 5:00 this morning in shorts and a t-shirt. Life is good!
