What's the last book you added to your tbr list, pre-orders, shopping list, or library holds?

:transpride: 🏳️‍🌈 For pride month: What's your favorite book featuring LGBTQIA+ main characters?

I can't even choose between Priory of the Orange Tree and This is How You Lose the Time War.

Oh nothing, just a little light reading while teetering on the edge of abject terror for the world were creating for ourselves and our daughters...

If you're reading, what are you most likely to be sipping? Does the book content influence your cup content?

About 20 years ago, an English literature teacher told my class never to make fun of someone who mispronounces a word that they used correctly (contextually) because that means they read the word and taught themselves the meaning. Making fun of them might make them lose that urge to read and discover new words. I think about that often and I am grateful.

Do you lend your books to others from your personal library? Why or why not? Tell me ALL your feelings about it.

Does everyone else have that one friend on Goodreads who just fills your timeline with very specific titles that overwhelm you with secondhand embarrassment / make your question everything you know about them...or is it just me?

Have you ever hate-read a book? Like you knew it was going to be bad and you just had to see exactly how bad so that later on you could share with someone else just how immeasurably awful it was?

You don't HAVE TO share titles or authors, but if you do I'll enthusiastically enable you. 😈

What are your thoughts on book subscription boxes (such as Book of the Month or Illumicrate). Feel free to elaborate in the comments.

What hyper-specific sub genre of books do you find yourself vibing with lately?

I'll go first, Speculative Fiction--specifically about the not so distant future of more pandemics due to climate crisis, leading to space colonization and maybe an eventual return to a still populated earth that was just like "mostly okay." (Cloud Cuckoo Land, Sea of Tranquility, Emergency Skin, How High We Go in the Dark...)

POV: You're reading on a bus, park bench, work break room, waiting room, or some other public space and a random someone says, "Oh what are you reading...what's it about?"
What are your thoughts? How do you respond?

What book or series do you think should get a screen adaptation? Would you want it to be a movie (with sequels?) or a TV series?
