@evistre this is exactly why I have bought 3 copies of the Power by Naomi Alderman over the last few years. And why I need to replace my copy of This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone.
@MotherDucker All the time! But book lending is a reciprocal thing. I lend to people who also lend to me. We pencil initials on the copyright page so the books will eventually make it back to their rightful owner.

Love to lend books. Only once did it not come back to me (anybody see a copy of Peter Ustinov's The Old Man and Mr. Smith laying around?) but that's nothing compared to the feeling of sharing a really good story! ❤📚
@MotherDucker Used to. Don't any more. One buddy kept some of hubby's and my favorite books for YEARS. Then, when he was moving out of state and we helped. offered us "any books you want" from his basement shelves. Yep. He offered us our own books back as if they were his! Never lending again.

@MotherDucker I’ve been reading digital only for many years now. Every once in a while I will buy books to give as gifts.
I really loved “The Tide Child” trilogy by RJ Barker so I bought it hoping my kids would read it. When they are done I will give them away or drop them in. Little free library.

If I love a book enough that I can't risk not getting it back, I'll either already have bought multiple copies or will avoid lending that specific book.
Books are meant to be loved!
