This house in Huntington, IN, was the childhood home of #ElizebethSmithFriedman. Born Clara Elizebeth, she had 9 siblings & was the youngest.
Her father, John, was a Civil War veteran from a Quaker family. Her mother, Sopha, encouraged Elizebeth to think for herself.
You can see what is either an addition or more likely a sleeping porch on the left. The house was razed when the farm left the family in the last few years.

Good morning! It's cold and windy -- in the mid-twenties now and headed for just about freezing as a high.
It dusted some more snow overnight. Our driveway is still all ice and getting down to the garage should be an Olympic event. Seriously considering working from home.
Gonna make it a great day anyway; it is Friday!
Be careful and stay warm.

Will it snow a little tonight? Or not? Won't know 'til sunrise, and I hope to see a couple more inches of cold fluffy white stuff.

My driveway is long, steep, twisty, and shaded, so it only takes a few inches of snow to turn it into a downhill skating rink.
I park at the garage and hike the rest of the way up to my house.
I still love our rural refuge.

It's wicked cold, and I'm glad for my warm home.
Now consider soldiers in the Battle of the Bulge -- living in frigid conditions, many out in the open.
I'm sure they would have given anything for a warm fire and comfortable chair.

Good frigid morning!
My rhododendron is sensitive to cold temps and this morning it is displaying "wicked cold."
It's 7 F, feels like -9, and the air freezes in your nose. High today is 28 F but the wind chill will feel like the teens.
Stay home, or bundle up and stay safe.
