ON this date in 2003 - It was reported that Evel Knievel had signed over exclusive rights to allow the production of "Evel Knievel: The Rock Opera."
Bun Man and Mr. Purple, Broadway Writers of such notable musicals, "Ain't the Beer Cold" and "Beat Me Daddy 8 to the Bar", were commissioned for the Opera, but 9 years later they are still stuck w/ only one song "Evel is a Rock, Getoveryoself"
Someday, maybe someday, we'll hear it!
Mr. P was Bun's gunner, but P was sick that day, so Snoopy was picked up out of the fantasy draft and he became Bun's gunner for that day.
The real feat was that the Sopwith Camel was a single seat plane so Snoopy had one hand on a tether to the plane and the other firing the machine gun...
Now that was noteworthy!

ON this date in 1918 - German fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen, "The Red Baron," was shot down and killed during World War I.
While legend has it that Snoopy was the pilot who shot down The Red Baron, it was actually Bun Man who was flying his Sopwith Camel biplane which had been introduced in 1917.

When nothing was found inside, Bun Man turned to Mr. Purple and said "Dude, it's Geraldo, the guy builds up his bathroom trips into cinematic extravaganzas, what did you expect?"

ON this date in 1986 - Geraldo Rivera opened a vault that belonged to Al Capone at the Lexington Hotel in Chicago.
Nothing of interest was found inside.
That night, Bun Man and Mr. Purple sat in front of the TV and waited w/ anxious anticipation to see the largesse that Geraldo built up for everyone.

ON this date in 1999 - Jane Seymour received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She achieved fame after dating Bun Man who stacked the deck on her fortune telling w/ the Lovers card and, well, you know where that went.
Ian Fleming, bud of Bun and Mr. Purple, used this to extend the story of Solitaire in 'Live and Let Die'.
Although Sean Connery would have been so much more convincing in the role than Roger Moore.
REMEMBERING A.M.
ON this date in 1960 - Elvis Presley's returned to Hollywood to film "G.I. Blues."
The movie was also going to star Sgts. Bun Man and Mr. Purple from the 3rd Armored Div. but when the Boyz heard the female lead was Juliet Prowse rather than Ann-Margaret, they opted out of the film and waited until Viva Las Vegas started production.

ON this date in 1999 - KMFDM released their last album as a group after breaking up in the previous January.
Original members Bun Man and Mr. Purple, while initially receptive to their role as rappers, began to miss their truer R&B roots.
At the time, Bun said "Really, how challenging is going thru songs and singing "KMF, uh huh, uh huh; KMF, uh huh, uh huh..."
The Boyz went on to fame as backup singers for Rafael Saadig and Jesse Dee and Meyer Hawthorne...the new Soul singers!

Mr. Purple just now started cracking up; when Bun and I asked why, Mr. P replied "Dudes, don't you get it?
