@dauphin87 You’re welcome!! It’s a scary thing to face joint replacements, I know. I was crushed at first, but now I’m just disappointed I’m not the bionic woman. I feel like that should be an option at this point. 😂

@wideeyedcurious It really is! My left eye and both hands were twitching/shaking when I submitted my thesis (full collection of poetry, in my case). I stayed up for two straight days because I was on roll and had to just get it done. It looked like a paper and book bomb had gone off in my house 😂

@see_the_sus It’s emotional at first! I had no idea how bad off I really was. But, the recovery takes longer than everyone says. They make it sound like you’ll be bopping all around in two weeks. In a way that’s true, but if you have a bakery where you stand for many hours at a time (like me), and/or you want to go back to working out again, that takes a long time. I pushed it, and now I have occasional stabbing nerve pain. Also, it takes months to be able to walk truly normally again.

@dauphin87 I had the left hip replaced Jan. 10th, 2023, and the right hip replaced Feb. 28th, 2023. I stayed overnight in the hospital both times, and I’m glad I did. That first night pain can get intense, so don’t let them do outpatient.

@wideeyedcurious Congratulations!!!!!!!! 🥳 I remember that amazing feeling, right before I passed out (hadn’t slept in days getting my thesis done). After my craft presentation I literally laid down on the floor in the front of the classroom. 😂

If you order a coconut cake, you’d make my life a lot easier if you ordered by Monday because I’ll be in the commercial kitchen for many hours on Tuesday (fitting it all in at once), where I make the buttercream icing. However, if you order any other cake on our menu, we just need 1-3 days, preferably 2-3.

Post hip replacement surgeries: thanks to yoga and swimming (it’s not without its pains at this point 😩), I’m not as tight as I was. I’m still weak, though. I’m teaching myself to walk normally again, and the muscles and nerves involved in walking, because I haven’t walked normally in a few years. It’s weird.
