These tv shows and documentaries need to stop referring to 16 year-olds as women. They are not women. They are children. They are minors. The full grown men who pursue and stock them are pedophiles. Let's get this fixed, shall we?

@dauphin87 My Momโ€™s scones are THE BEST. Seriously. I keep meaning to put them on our web site. Iโ€™ll put that on my to-do list for after mem day.

This is the most adorable and fun book!! I got it because of the title (I have a bakery and an English degree), but it is so fun to read.

@Nerdsleaze As for the Puritans, I not only read journals, which should be readily available because the Mayflower is famous, but I also read poetry written by a Puritan woman who was held captive by the Native Americans. Then, thereโ€™s Cotton Mather, who was a zealot, but he was quite a while after the Mayflower. But, none of them had slaves to my knowledge, which I like about them too, like the Quakers.

@Nerdsleaze My grandfather was a history teacher for 20 years and instilled a love of history in all of us. But, most of what I know about this is from reading all kinds of literature while I got my degree in English. I got to go to a really good school. But, I am a writer, and I do research for both prose and poetry. But, again, I know this stuff from my literature classes.

Read HEART OF DARKNESS to find out what the Belgians did to the people of the Congo, if youโ€™re interested.

This looks like a dystopian painting by a chronically depressed devil worshipper but itโ€™s a b/w picture of Bakhmut after the Russians were finished โ€œbringing freedomโ€ ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
Itโ€™s about 8 am, 5/15/23 in Bakhmut.

@Kittiekatt53 Thatโ€™s about right, but it was power-washing the house. It took all day.

WHY is there landscaping work being done in the neighborhood today?? WHY?????? TODAY. ๐Ÿคฌ

@Nerdsleaze From what Iโ€™ve read, I think the Spanish explorers were the most brutal, then the Belgians tied them in the Congo. Most other white people took a close second.

Surprisingly, the only white people who werenโ€™t brutal were the Puritans who came over on the Mayflower. They didnโ€™t enslave anyone, and just tried to start a new life for themselves in peace in a new land. Did it go well? No. A lot of them died. But, they were peaceful for white people.

@Nerdsleaze Not that this matters, but I think it was a throwing game, not a kicking game. I remember reading about how they threw the babies to each other.

There isnโ€™t an emoji for this. Itโ€™s just plain horrifying.

@Nerdsleaze Okay, you asked for it ๐Ÿ˜ณ

They would play a football like game once they landed on the islands in the Caribbean, and they would grab black babies out of the arms of their screaming black mothers and use the babies as the football.

Like I said, monsters.
