@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine I agree. @voltronic @corlin
There is a lot to unpack in this post, and a great synopsis of it is captured in this paragraph regarding remote/distance learning
"Definitive answers are hard to come by, and national data on student learning is virtually nonexistent. But more than a dozen national surveys of teachers, parents, students, and school administrators conducted over the past few months offer the clearest initial tally of successes and failures."
Good Morning #COSO
Over the past week I've posed some questions regarding the school lock downs, the quarantines, and the effects people have been witnessing. Over the next few days, I will be posting studies & articles on what is occurring and not occurring during the remote learning process. Some students will absolutely thrive in this environment and this article details that, but the other two I will be posting shows a very different picture. Here's the first one

@Minholkin Thats why I started all of this with the polls. negative/positive effects and homeschool/not homeschool. By doing it that way, I'm able to post about the thorns as well as the blooms. Plus, I'm actually really good at playing devils advocate. :)
@LibertySpeaks The poor who may not have a computer nor the internet will be left so far behind their class mates. It's a real tragedy in the making.
@Mandypar yep, i touched on that a couple days ago regarding internet and broadband access.
@th3j35t3r Mornin J
@Madken65 I hope you find the posts enlightening.
@Minholkin thank you. they all tie into the polls I did. call this my devils advocate week. Hopefully they will offer a rational voice. thank you for boosting the articles BTW.. appreciated greatly
@Madken65 That is why I am posting "food for thought" articles. It is my hope that they will be read and understood specifically for those very secondary and tertiary reasons.
@Madken65 "future killing". well, yes, but not if you're referring to COVID deaths.
@Madken65 interesting way of putting it.
@Minholkin Mornin Min. the next 3 days I'll be posting a few interesting things.
Regarding remote learning and achievement this article is a very good source on the numbers and what still is lacking:
Here is the key take away
"The Covid-19 pandemic is arguably the largest disruption America’s K–12 education system has ever faced. For students, this disruption—and the differences in districts’ response to it—will harm academic achievement and likely exacerbate longstanding achievement gaps".
Good morning #COSO I wanted to share a couple posts this morning. One is regarding remote learning and the other is regarding the potential problems that are arising from this. Here is the first one.
There is a method to my madness BTW
Good Morning #COSO
The last poll I did was regarding home schooling. 3 polls (including the duplicate poll here) had between 66%-73% participants saying they will home school, or saying they would if they could and not an option right now. Yesterday I touched on the broad band capabilities across the nation. The article below touches on that. I will also be linking another post later.
Broadband access maps
Lets start of with some numbers and stats. regarding internet access

@th3j35t3r um,. having weirdness with a "backend" doesn't sound good.
