Watching the news from Columbia University and things are grim.

No, arresting protestors was not necessary and does not assure anyone that Constitutional freedoms were observed. Especially when the disabled professor's cane was violently taken away from them.

Trying desperately to update my American banking address but it won't let me because the name of the street is misspelled. It's not misspelled. There is nothing wrong with the street name except the fact the bank doesn't like Korean words.

Chasing the plot bunnies provides dopamine which means I'm more likely to cycle back to the book with a deadline, so let's go chase plot bunnies.

Me: I need to work on this book.

Brain: Here's a new plot bunny! Fast, action SF spanning a few hours with a secret, hidden weapon of a person!

Me: Look at the schedule and tell me when I have time for this?

Brain: There is always time for Found Family and Antics.

My publisher would like me to kindly remind you that I have books. They are for sale on multiple continents and in multiple formats. Some have murder. Some have romance. A lot have both. Usually with some science on the side.

Please enjoy.

Seven years ago I was getting ready to leave Alaska and move back to the Lower 48. Three houses and three countries later I'm grateful that I'm not packing up and moving this year.

Trying to embrace the day, even though it's a Monday.

Yeah, I'm having a bit of trouble carpeing that old diem...

I am enjoying the soundtrack for and I'm E1. We'll see where this goes.

What is the appropriate, culturally-sensitive way to uncurse and inbox? Asking for a friend.

I realize it's noon and I should eat (and maybe nap) but I also have just sat down at my desk to work today. This is frustrating.

Monday is starting strong with a family health crisis in the states and a job offer for DH that would be same-pay-but-better-title move with his current employer. We'd stay here, but it would extend our work visa the way we want. The change would happen sometime this fall.

I always read ACAB as Assigned Criminal At Birth and I don't know if it's what everyone means, but it certainly works in most cases.

After the absolute chaos of this week you can understand why I'm more than a little hesitant to believe that my inbox is finally quiet and all disasters have been averted until Monday.

"All mountains look the same!"

hWHat did you just say???

No. Absolutely not. Take that back.

Breakfast. Meetings. Possible unwanted phone calls.

I'm going to get through today and my reward in the end shall be a ladies night and a trip to the local bath house. I deserve time to soak in a hot tub.

I will also accept world peace.

I don't see that being an option, but I'm willing to accept another certificate of appreciation if it means no one goes to war again.

If people really want to show appreciation, I want it in cash or scholarships for my kids.

Another piece of paper I will inevitably shove in a file folder and forget three second later is not my love language.

Friend: You know, if you logged onto this website and did this paperwork, you'd get an award for this work you do!

Me: Is it cash or college scholarships?

Friend: 0.o - It's a certificate and an award ceremony!

Me: Hard pass. I'm a Millennial. I have enough of those from grade school.
