We have acquired a Greylag Goose (anser anser). The rest of the flock headed back to Iceland, but this one stayed. My neighbor posits that it had a mild brush with bird flu and was rejected by the flock. Now it doesn't know where to go.

It's alert, has a good appetite, can fly when it chooses, and is fearless of sheep and people - it follows me up and down the fence line. I guess it'll just be hanging out with us for a bit. Also, no band visible.
