A local TV news reporter, Lisa Weismann of ABC News 4 (WCIV), came out this morning and did a lovely report on my efforts to get Bugs, the Wonder Cat, to a vet to close that big hole in his belly. Thanks to her report, which aired on the 6 p.m. broadcast, the "Save Bugs" fund is now up to $1,481, about halfway to the goal. Bugs needs surgery, boarding & meds. Won't you help me help him? π

If I were you, I might even think about leaning into the retro cheesiness a bit - a lot of authentic '70s and '80s stuff was pretty cheesy, and to a lot of people that's actually part of the allure; the cheese is often an integral part of what makes it catchy/fun.

Hi, CoSo. For those who haven't heard, this π is Bugs, the Wonder Cat. In February, he got his belly torn open in a fight, most likely with his brother Simba. The hole closed, but got torn open again over a month ago.
I tried to get him to a vet, but the only one I can easily get to wouldn't touch him. Now he needs surgery to close the wound; simple stitches won't do it anymore. To this end, I've started a #GoFundMe. Any help is much appreciated. π

How are you doing?
Am doing better today. The AC has helped a ton with my sleep and I am almost caught up. I went to visit a neighbour and we both got invited to a last minute picnic. I brought some dessert and got to eat a burger. :)
I like it! Especially the transition from like a downtempo industrial to atmospheric.
I left a review for the Wally World, it was the best I could do.
If we had universal healthcare and politicians who had the balls to break up monopolies, the average joe could afford normal every day stuff.
It does not matter if you're dirt poor like me, or middle class, we're all screwed. Even my BFF struggles. Her and I met at work before I retired early on disability. Upper middle class on up seem to have it a lot easier than the rest of us.

Today I yeeted that "friend" who stopped taking my calls, stopped messaging me, but continued to re-post whatever came up in her doomscroll. My now ex-friend even "liked" one of my FB posts but could not be bothered to ask me if I was OK after I called her and left a message saying I needed someone to talk to. She reaped what she sowed. I won't miss her. Too bad, so sad for her. Next!
I swear search engines (Google, DuckDuckGo, etc) have become pretty much useless as of late... seems like niche forums of all kinds - and really most sites with substantial user-generated content - have been deindexed from all the major search engines, leaving just a pile of:
- Corporate sites, usually trying to sell you something
- Keyword-stuffed AI-generated crap
- Keyword-stuffed clickfarm-generated crap
- Sketchy sites that are probably loaded with malware
- Semi-related Reddit posts
I asked her to find me a nee therapist and said I don't think it's working out. Told her it's not personal. I was very professional and polite and realised why I have not slept well the past six months. I just needed someone to talk to that fucking listened and showed they cared. Yeet! I fired her and put a call into my case worker to see if he can call there or elsewhere to find me someone who won't create a quality of care issue like this one I just said goodbye to.
Now I have seen her twice and she does not even begin to know how to process trauma. I told her some indepth shit I went through as a kid, and she sat there nodding her fucking head. Thanks but no thanks
