@Tarnagh Took him long enough, but I guess draft dodgers like to stick together.
@DavidSalo What a pushy woman, actually reading the material without a man there to explain it to her.
Weird how the government trusts parents to make decisions about their clearly violent and dangerous child. Decisions that killed 2 other children and two teachers.
But the parent of a transgender child can't choose to allow their child puberty blockers to save their life...
Nobody ever committed a mass murder with a puberty blocker.
@corlin Fiddle teacher Randal Bays said, "You have a model [of the tune you're working on] in your head, and you try to get to it -- you can't, nobody does -- but in the space between where your playing is and that model, that's where what's you comes out."
@estherschindler Wow. I worked in IT something like 30 years, thought I knew something. I knew nothing.
Take the time to read this thread and pass it on. Non-competes are flat out evil.
@mcfate You mean he never did squat to commemorate it until he could make the commemoration a campaign event?
I am shocked, SHOCKED!
@mcfate Just wondering: How did His Orangeness commemorate the first two anniversaries of the evacuation?
@DavidSalo Russia's efforts on behalf of his 2016 are well documented. I don't see any reason why they would ever stop.
Tbf, the US hasn't been shy about influencing politics in other countries either, to say the least.
@Cosmichomicide I understand DNA tests are rewriting quite a few of their genealogies.
@anatman @gshevlin @b2bjacks That doesn't apply to Democracy Now or Pacifica News AFAIK. Their impact is a fraction of Fox's, but it looks like close elections are the rule now; no impact is too small to matter. They could have saved us from four years of the Orange Toddler, but Hillary wasn't pure enough for them.
@gshevlin @b2bjacks This. Hilary Clinton was in national politics for a quarter of a century before she ran for president, and every single day of that Fox News had her conspiring to take our guns and eat our babies. Nor did the leftwards press like her much -- Democracy Now had nothing good to say about any Clinton other than George.
And news media are still treating TFG as if he's not that bad once you get used to him. They have some explaining to do
@mcfate Indeed, there are a lot of places in South Berkeley/North Oakland where you need the mailing address to see which city a house is in -- the whole address, not just the zip code.
But in terms of popular image, even in civic identity, they're pretty far apart. Oakland's industrial, a port town, practical. Berkeley is intellectual, idealistic.
Not really as different as the media paint them, but different enough that no candidate for state or national office will say they're from Berkeley.
A million register democrats in Texas have been kicked off the roles. To check if you’re still registered, go to this website. To re-register, just update your information:

@GrazingintheGrass Fortunately he rarely keeps his promises. Although if he gets elected a shortage of meat will be among the least of our problems.
@Museek A good one (like my Komo Mío) doesn't take up much space and looks good even when that's all it's doing. It wasn't cheap but it'll last for decades. And nothing beats fresh flour when you're making bread, or crackers.
@radar323 My sympathy. I hope your mom is bitterly disappointed this November and that her disappointment is the catalyst for an epiphany.
A man who votes for Trump is bad enough, but a woman who votes for Trump is like a bird that votes for a cat.
Grew up in Cupertino before Apple, lived in Berkeley, now retired in South Puget Sound. He/him.
