I was walking around the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery this morning and I came upon a grave marker of a couple with only one death date. So I looked it up.

On June 23, 1921, a cousin who also worked as a hired hand for Virginia and Robert Mills got into a quarrel over the size of a wood pile. He shot both of them in the back and then killed himself. "[A] neighbor stopped by the house and discovered the grisly scene and rescued the Mills' 2-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter."

I love cemeteries!

@SnelsetterFarm LOL. Good catch!

I think the rock heats up and at a certain point it explodes. But I would have thought he'd see more before it does so. Very impressive!

@TheAbbotTrithemius Yes! I was shocked at just how bright it was. Amazing!

@aspecurian They've recently moved it to the top. But in such a way as to hide it. And there is no other indication. Ads were once clearly marked!

@aspecurian Yep. Most of the ads only have a grey "AD" listed. I spent a lot of time on the site blocking people but there was no way to block enough of them. I still go on to check out a couple of people and to DM a handful of friends. Otherwise, it's an awful experience.

One great advantage to CoSo is the lack of ads. This is especially clear with the number of ads on Twitter going way up (~3X what it was a year ago). Additionally, the ads are more poorly labeled than ever before. What I can't figure out is how even with all this the site isn't profitable. But sure: Elon Musk is a business genius.

@singlemaltgirl My friend wasn't too impressed either. I think I'll be watching the rest by myself!

@singlemaltgirl I had a hard time with the first half of episode 1. But it won me over. We'll see how the second one goes!

I'm watching The Full Monty TV series with a friend. It definitely maintains the charm of the original movie. (It's on Hulu for those interested.)

@aspecurian Sadly, I think you're right. That's all it was...

@aspecurian Ha! That's true. I think what 2016 was really all about was the party learning that the base was just there for the hate. The economics? The foreign policy? It didn't matter at all.

Musk’s new Twitter policies helped spread Russian propaganda, E.U. says

I just saw David Jolly on MSNBC. I have no problem with some never-Trumpers but most are like Jolly: they are there to argue that the problem is just Trump and the GOP was just fine before 2016. Sorry. The rot goes back more than 60 years. I don't know what MSNBC is going to do if Trump dies. Turn into CNN?

@singlemaltgirl Yeah, I'm being mean. Foxworthy was pretty good early on. But more recent stuff I've seen has been pretty weak. Engvall is a lot like White. But not as good. But they do all understand what a joke is... Of course, they are all from a different time. But maybe I'm just seeing the very best of the new conservative comedians!

@singlemaltgirl He is the only conservative comedian I know of who genuinely seems to know what comedy is. Even when I hate his work (which is often), I can see that he told a joke. That's surprisingly rare on the right!
